Hello everypony!
I am FIMprov. The name comes from my affinity for piano improvisation, which I must admit I am fairly new to. I have taken piano lessons for about 10 years now (more than half of my life) and consider the keyboard to be my forté. I haven't done anything yet that showcases the extent of my keyboard skill, but I'm hoping to put together a piano masterpiece one of these days. On the other hoof, the more electronic music I hear in this community, the more I like it! Funny thing, that; before I joined the community I had a non-brony friend tell me that I'd enjoy making electronic music.
So my plan of action is, once I get a new laptop, to use some combination of software that will let me do electronic and classical: likely any good DAW (Ableton, FL Studio, any recommendations?) and then separate VSTs for orchestral and synth instrumentation. I don't have a whole lot of time to write music during the fall and spring, but during the winter and summer I plan to be pretty active writing whatever I can. And I do write almost anything, be it metal, pop-rock, electronic, or classical. Whatever comes to mind, really.
Anyway, FIMprov is my only alias (other than my DA, which is "BalladOfInfinity"). You might have heard of me because of the one improvisation collab I was a part of that got on EQD, but other than that I'm pretty much still new and unheard of in this community. I hope to learn about producing electronic music however I can, and as much as possible.
Oh, and I suppose I should list the instruments I play...
Piano - 10 years
Trombone - 8 years
Guitar - 4 years
Baritone/Tuba - 3 years
Bass/Drum set (both self-taught) - 2 years
And I aspire to at least minor in music composition in college to give me an edge when it comes to classical music. I think that's pretty much it for me. Hello again, everypony!
