CommandSpry wrote:That's the first thing you think about when something dies. Sounds to me like his CPU is just fine and he just wants a new CPU.
Nothing bad with that, we all want new technology, but it's terribly dishonest to throw in a dead CPU, college funding and stuff like that to get people to donate. It's called ebegging and nobody likes it.
Kyoga wrote:look. I don't know who blaze is or what he does, but there's no damned way that there was "no better option" than to ask his fans for money.

i stock money specifically in case something happens to my computer.
CommandSpry wrote:Okay first of all, when people ask for donations from their subscribers, they do something in return. Musicians release an EP, artists accept commissions. Anyone who asks for donations for nothing in return is not right in my book, however many of these people are there.
ChromaticChaosPony wrote:Yet, I have not even created a Paypal account to accept donations with. I release everything for free (it isn't very great).
I think I have the right to say how wrong I think it is that Blaze is asking for money and giving nothing in return.

Regarding the warranty, I've tried it twice before. AMD has done nothing for me but given me bad luck over and over. At THIS specific point, I am choosing to move to a Intel as I've heard and have had recommended to me over AMD recently when I started discovering very minor problems with my CPU, again. The reason I haven't gotten Intel the last 2 times was for the fact I couldn't afford it. At the time I was full time at college for 5 days a week and was there from 9 till 8 at night and didn't have time to get a job especially since I I was working with my dad in construction every weekend as well.

Grab as much evidence of your conversations with AMDs shittery, contact The Consumerist(and like blogs), find contacts higher up the chain, file a report with the BBB, hit the gym, etc.
You don't need a lawyer to get a company to listen to you. Heck, I managed to get an apology letter from the manager of a company's state branch because of some shit they pulled with the intern program(technically legal, but quite unethical) - having parents with management experience helped.

AMD has nothing to do directly with Blaze, if there isn't a place called the AMD Store or something. The warranty is issued by the retailer so the only relation he has with AMD is that he's using their products. AMD doesn't have an obligation to replace his product, the retailer can, unless stated otherwise; some companies do give out direct warranty like Seagate or Kingston.

I think you should be fine. Making an actual contribution to this thread with your opinion is not spamming at all.
