Fucking health problems...
So I got a tooth pulled- can't afford to do anything beyond that, lucky to have even got a voucher for having that much done for me. And this means I can drink coffee again, because I was dealing with the tooth pain by cutting out coffee and salt and basically stopping my blood pressure from getting high at all.
Trouble is, an old pony like me can have other issues, ones that trigger off LOW blood pressure. I've been getting eye pain some mornings. This morning it was so bad I couldn't open my right eye at all for a while. What with my uncle having glaucoma, my dad having diabetes, the pain, the blurriness, the way it triggers off things like nocturnal blood pressure dips- it's pretty much gotta be acute narrow angle glaucoma. It's an emergency, but unless Vermont comes through for me again I can't do a thing about it besides control the 'low blood pressure' triggering conditions, and every time I wake up with my eye so painful I can't open it, I risk going permanently blind. If it was both eyes I'd really panic.
FUCKING health problems. One thing about it, both reading and music saved my life when I was younger- it sucks having reading become more difficult, but I can always turn more heavily to music. And I'm going to stretch out being not-blind for as long as I possibly can, whether I can afford health care or not (signs point to not)
Those of you who are gettin' things like love and attention from places like EqD (the manestream, in other words), enjoy having a happy audience for your creations and working ears and eyes. Those of you who like me stay pretty under the radar, enjoy having working ears and eyes.
I'm going to go watch a poni episode (just on the laptop because my PS3 (for watching poni on the big screen) busted and I can't afford to replace it either) while I still have working eyes, and then I'm going to fool around with more guitar tones because I can probably count on having working ears for a good long while, whatever else happens. Now I'm glad I haven't spent too much time with loud guitar amps and live drums...
YOLO but guys- it wears out, it doesn't just blow out. Don't be ashamed to protect your hearing at things like clubs lest you end up like me later on- falling back on your hearing in the end, and what if it was broken when you needed it? I now KNOW my eyes are gonna go first. Ain't subtle.
Vent over.
