Here's my tack so far, I'm thinking of adding some gitch in the vocals, how do you think?

Something is wrong with my project. I can't put in vocals without them being an empty pattern. So now I'm stuck with an instrumental remix. fuuuuuuuuuuuuuu
I don't have time for fancy signatures.

Oh, snap! I managed to accidentally pull something out of my hind quarters. Not entirely sure of the genre, though. Anyone feel like giving me an idea? It's got a bunch of distorted noise and the half timey dubstep beat, but I don't know if you'd call it dubstep.

Anyway, soundcloud removed some of the high frequencies, it's honestly not this muddy in .wav (submission) form. I need to tweak the mix a little bit more and tack in a little bit more (I rendered out the whole track only to find out I forgot to add in half the patterns to the final chorus.)

Hooray me! For best effect, crank them woofers. There's quite a bit of low frequencies going on in this one.

I am LOVING the beat you have on this. It sounds pretty nice! The issue for me here is that the mix is sounding pretty dry. Just keep playing with your effects and after mastering, hopefully this will sound as full as it has the potential to be. :D

Also, those basses are great but very quiet. They're nice and earth-shattering, but I'd love to be able to hear them a bit better. Maybe play around with some resonating higher frequencies?

This is pretty nice so far, and it's sounding pretty evenly mixed, which is quite rare here on MLR. xD Mixing is one of the biggest things I'll be looking at for the contest, so I'll definitely have my eye on this one.

While the mixing IS nice, the drums need to come up a bit. The delay on the piano is a bit much... Maybe try putting more delay or reverb on the vocals instead. Also... One thing I notice is that you changed almost nothing from the original midi, at least melodically. Honestly I'm not super picky about that because I like the arrangement so much, but this could really use some high synth leads or something to really switch it up and make it stand out.

Sorry for going OCD on you. xD This is one of my favorites out of the entries so far.

Quick question: Are instrumental remixes okay? 'Cause I was trying to do a remix of Monster, but the vocals are being a pain in the rear to work with, so I figured that simply transposing them onto an instrumental track would be easier. Plus, I simply work better with instrumentals.

Instrumentals are okay, but a remix by definition has to have some part of the original song. Maybe chopped vocals? Slices of Omni's wubs?

Well, for the thing that almost nothing is changed in the midi, it's pretty early work and I haven't come up with variation yet, that's something I've gotta fix from now on. I already have a little synth melody I've modified from the original work, but I couldn't find a nice place to fit it in.

I still have to fix the repetitive, annoying drumloop that goes from here to then, the snare hits mainly, the delay/reverb on the piano, and the side-chaining bass pad is something I've gotta fix, otherwise It'll be really unconformable to listen to

Thanks for the feedback! Your music is awesome by the way, and I had a lot of fun remixing them!

That's something I missed; decent and helpful feedback. I managed to make the mix less dry, which is something I never would have done without being told it was dry to begin with. Hilarious, seeing as it now seems like a glaring flaw to me when yesterday it was totally acceptable.

I've done about as much as I can do, I think. I'm gonna throw in a little synth thing at the end and submit it within the next 2-3 days, hopefully. Thanks, Aviators, for reminding me of what simple but helpful feedback is, and how delightful it is. :D

So guys, the deadline is getting close! That means I'm gonna be collecting all the submissions soon. Thing is, I will NOT be judging them for a good long while. With the delay of the album's release, I'm gonna give you guys some more time if you need it. If you're done by July 25th, awesome! If you need more time, just let me know. There's no real rush.

So I just found this thread four days ago. Already almost finished with it.

I may need that extra time as I've got what is probably going to be two of the most ridiculously crazy weeks of my life ahead of me, but I'm hoping I can smash out the rest of the tune this weekend.

Anyway, here's what I have now; if anyone would give me suggestions or feedback or whatever, I'd really appreciate it! I already have some things I'll be changing; it's just hard getting time to do anything when you're out of the house for 16 hours per day. But yeah, feedback! Please!

What time signature is Monster written in? I'm having difficulties syncing the vocals to my drum beat, and hypothetically FL should be doing it for me.
10/15/2014 - I finally return to ponies? Maybe.

Actually it was more like 10/12/2015

My current SoundCloud, pony & non-pony things found here.

I have 4 EP's under this alias!

Oh thank goodness. This remix has been eating up my all free time, which is good, because it's incredibly fun, but bad, because it's preventing me from doing all my university work. Whoops. I'd love a few extra days, please. :3

I don't know how much of this you have down, but the track is in 4/4 at 130bpm and the vocals start on beat 2, not beat 1. Aviators often won't start his vocals on 1, I noticed. What I'll do when putting remix vocals into a track is listen carefully to the original and find out what beat the vocals start on, since it often varies.

Hope that helps.
