I just updated it actually, felt it was a little too empty, but you're more than welcome to use it.

I like both versions, so I'll use both :)

You might want to create a direct link to the old version in the description (upload the old to a filehost like dropbox.com). Both are great, but they also have different "feels", if that makes sense.

This may be a stupid question and I didn't want to search through all 31 pages to see if the answer is there so...

I keep hearing the same "...where is the balloon party?" sample in every single preview on youtube. Is this a requirement or something? Be nice. I'm new here.

As far as I know, it's preferred unless it will completely ruin your track. It's not required on the final, but if if you're planning on putting out a teaser, then again, it is preferred. As for where to get it, contact someone like Circuitfry, Aussie, or any of the bigguns, really, and they should have them. I have them too. Let me ask Circuitfry if I am allowed to redistribute them, because it would appear I frequent this thread more than him, and I'm sure he's tired of me dumping everyone on him.

But yeah, as of now, ask Circuitfry.

TO ALL WHO HAVE BEEN ASKING FOR THE BALLOON PARTY SAMPLES:

I asked, and we apparently aren't even doing that for round two of the teasers. Just make your song spectacular. No need to worry about the samples, now.

Alright, question time(too lazy to look back to see if it was answered, too many pages :S)

Should I post my song here when I'm finished, instead of JUST the submit thing on the events page? Because, I would like to know what the fooq I'm doing wrong n stuff.

Alala, finished my DnB song after a month of author's block, gonna master it tomorrow, but I still think some criticism could help, rather than not hearing anything and just hoping the song gets accepted.

WARNING. THE FUCKING INTRO.

So yeahk this was my first time actually mastering one of my songs, and I guess it's ok. So yeah, I had alot of fun working on this! Hopefully you enjoy it. And yes, I know that the drums could be put together with the drums a little better, but trust me, after what I did, there is no possible way of me going back and doing it.

Pretty good, but I thought the transition at 1:27 was a little weird, and near the end, it got a tad too repetitive for me. Nice track. :D

I agree with XiF that it is repetitive. Personally I feel it's a bit slow and I'm wondering if there's something you could do with the drums. It doesn't sound too heavy, almost like a video game soundtrack (not a bad thing!). I like the jazzy section.
Regarding the drums, at the beginning it almost feels as though the song would benefit from more of a marching drum beat as opposed to the typical dubstep roll.

@XiF:
Teasers I think are just sections taken from a full song you create, then upload onto youtube to garner more interest. Sections are usually 20-1:20 seconds long. I'm not sure if there are additional tags that should be added or if there is a balloon party channel on youtube. It helps to "respond to video" on other balloon party videos, I'm guessing.

OK, so I changed it about, and made it less repetitive than before, but some people also like the older one, so I need some help finding out which one I should get rid of, or if I should even get rid of one.
Help please?

I like bits from both, so I'll try to break it down based on my opinion. Keep in mind, it's only what I think. And my tastes are far from conventional.

Introduction: Good. Bass could be a little heavier.
~ 34 seconds, a little more variation would be good. The bassline is too repetitive from here. Things start to change around 1:30, I think the bass should get more involved, complex. Instead it gets simpler and the melody basically gives up. Instead, the melody should increase too.

~ 2:15, the song gets good. Not a lot of 'kick' to it, drums are very light sounding. The background archipelgo (sp?) is excellent, more should be done with it though.
Melody sounds confused when introduced around 3:10, but the melody itself works when repeating. The bass during this period should be more varied.

Not enough melody near the end. The song isn't bad by any means, just sounds... confused

It definitely has a jungle genre -type sound to it. Um, the intro seems to disconnect with the rest of the song, the sound clips from the show have their own background music which I understand is hard to separate, but it is somewhat jarring. It doesn't have much of a melody, but it's got an interesting and varied beat. I think you overuse the distorted oscillator-y sound a bit much (one used in the intro), maybe try some panning, pulsing, or phasing with it. Maybe put something in the higher bands, there's a lot of bass and beat sounds but not much going on in the song.

It's a great start!
