<original> <Grin><pop(?)> Double Rainboom

Long time since I've posted in here.. Just thought I'd redeem myself and drop this drop here. Originally made for the credits of Double Rainboom, but we used an instrumental instead for various reasons.

Definitely not my first instrumental, but it is the first time I've also written the lyrics and melody, so I could use some critique..

Hope I got the thread title format right.

Of course, brilliant work, to start off.
Plenty of diverse sounds and textures.

Vocal part is great, ornaments and harmonised in (what I feel) is the right places.
In performance, the chorus sometimes lacks a little rhythmical tightness. Nothing inappropriate, though.

Not sure what it is, but I feel there might be something missing. Possibly the drums and/or bass needing 'bounce'.
Possibly something funk/blues pop influenced? Dat nice fretless slide, octave pops, accaturas from the 4th to 5th of root, etc...
Drums might just need a little timing tweaking and comping on the HH to make them integrate more.
I might be wrong in this regard. Wouldn't be the first time.
