My Little Reggae

Postby nido » 16 Nov 2011 09:22

I recall that quite a while back somepony somewhere shouted there were no reggae mixes. Then, there still were no reggae mixes. Then, I got drunk, and then I decided to do some recording myself.

I started with one shot donig the intro song (very best friends), dumped it on irc and got enough positive reactions to record the second one. I've got some ideas to redo these and reggae-ise the other songs (its hard though; I bluffed myself through all the way with a 'how to sound reggae' guide and turning my voice a bit. Anyway; these songs were on the shelf for a while as i was unaware this site existed. I'm showing these to you now; though I don't have time soon to work on updating the songs for I am in the middle of moving/rennovating. Feel free to use pieces of the track if you have use for it. If you want me to record some guitar at that quality I can do that as well. If you have advice on how to make it sound better I'd appreciate it; so without further ado:

Very Best Friends (intro): http://motherrabbit.foxserver.be/horsea ... Friends%20
Cutiemark Cruisaders: http://motherrabbit.foxserver.be/horsea ... isaders%20

(this forum has problems with the urls somehow, the 'actual' files are at http://motherrabbit.foxserver.be/horsea ... %20(Reggae).mp3 and http://motherrabbit.foxserver.be/horsea ... %20(Reggae).mp3 ; hence the shorter links)

Try right clicking on the link and saving the file, sometimes the quicktime player is pesky and doesn't wanna play them.

how exactly is it not working for you if i may ask? I'm not seeing any relevant errors in the httpd log, so it looks like it did manage to find the file; which indicate it may be an issue in playback. I believe I used exactly the same method to create both mp3 files so they should either both work, or neither should work. If you happen to know anything on how it is not working I'd love to look in to why it doesn't.

Have you ever thought that a different player was loading it?

Besides, FoxyTunes > Default Player.
