I am confuse

Sports, politics, movies, videogames, questionable hobbies, photos from your family vacation, etc. Talk about stuff that isn't ponies or music. But do try to stay on topic and respectful of alternate opinions.

Think you'r a bit negative about it all. Sure the main reason for making music should be the love of music, but saying fame and exposure doesn't matter is a big exaggeration imo. If you'r not recognised for what you do it's basically the same thing as being told you'r music is bad, and trust me, that is a very distracting thought to have in your head when working on a new song.
I've gotten over not being good my self yet, so I don't expect fame and fortune for my self, but it still pisses me off when great music is neglected. It's the same everywhere, a few lucky people get all the attention, but at the end of the day, they aren't much better than the rest :(
The rest deserve the exposure, but they don't get it. That kind of shit makes me angry, but since we can't change the world we just have to do with the tiny exposure we get.

^^What Freewave said. Its not about fame over art, it's about a fair playing field. Well said. :)

I believe they meant making music in general. As in it takes 10,000 hours to master an art so don't think you're far with your 500 hours. That's how I interpreted it anyway.

PhillyPu wrote:why should you deserve it?

I deserve it because I can obtain it. I agree with most everything you wrote but if I can show my art to people and if they like it then there is absolutely nothing wrong about that (which I do believe you agree with). I DJ every week around my city, I play some of my own tracks from time to time, people really enjoy it so I am going to pursue it. I'm searching out the people who like my art because I enjoy making the art.

I am after fame because when I can make money off my art I can spend more time making it, and more time enjoying it with those fans.

4th, you're confusing success with fame. There is a significant difference, especially in the context of the fandom.

Sorry, I was more getting at what you said earlier here.
Lavender_Harmony wrote:then if you want exposure, send it to proper promotion networks and labels, shit, you might get signed, and you'll play gigs and be properly famous, how about that?

To me, there seems to be this universal dislike towards wanting/seeking fame on MLR, at least with many members in the past few weeks. Its just what I've noticed, I could be very wrong about it.

Its not something I agree with, I think its great if you want to seek fame. The brony fandom, like you said, isn't really the place to do it, the real world will get you places, brony music will not.

I've recently stopped caring about catering music towards the fandom, I don't mean making music, solely, to get famous within the fandom but rather making pony music for the fandom. I am inspired by the show, and I do write music about the show, but I no longer label my music as 'pony' music. I care about my real world image and making music my real world fans like. I am getting off topic here I think, sorry, I'm just trying to state my opinion (not that anyone really cares anyway).

I don't really give a fuck anymore. I've quit pony music to focus on pursuing an actual music production career. ponies lead nowhere, and as much as I love the show, I'm starting to hate the fandom.
