To people who don't know what a producer is, I say composer, because that sounds better, and more accurately explains my focus when making music, i.e., using elements of sound in the creation of a original experience rather than a refinement of someone else's work.

To people who do know what a producer is, I say producer, because the fact that I'd be a composer too would be implied. And also because I accomplish that original experience also through production tricks.

Also I play guitar and stuff and put it in my tracks and sing, so singer/songwriter sometimes.

I don't see any problem with it, it would just be confusing if, say, a death metal band suddenly produced an album of their journey through the pieces of Chopin and Liszt.

Actually, that isn't nearly as weird as you think it would be, it happens a lot more often than you think:

That was piano piece to close an album by a death metal band. I think I heard a similar song by a completely different death metal band which was just a piano song in the middle of the album. Making a classical album would be totally the thing a death metal band would do because they and their fans are pretentious like that. Now, on the other hand it would be weird for a grindcore band to do such a thing, but grindcore bands are known for doing weird things. I think the best example would be a chart pop singer released a death metal song or visa versa.

By the way, I guess I could be referred to as a singer or a songwriter, but my preferred term is "troll".

I'm a hobbyist. As far as music goes, anyway. I don't claim any labels like "musician" or "producer" because that suggests to others that music is my primary focus.

To avoid confusion, I call myself a hobbyist. There might be some old pages of mine that say "producer" but I most likely wrote that when I was making music full-time and thought I was hot shit.

Of course, I do keep getting told to teach others in my school stuff in FL Studio (counts towards a class mark and it's easy, no complaints here), so I could a professor, cause it sounds cooler than teacher.
