MLP Comes to Japan!

I have no idea why it took 3 years to have a dubbed version of MLP come to Japan as that place is a natural market to go gaga over MLP but it appears to be happening now.

Japanese title is My Little Pony トモダチは魔法 (tomodachi wa mahou = Friendship is Magic)
-scheduled to begin airing on TV Tokyo in April of this year
- the show will be available in both Japanese dub and original English
-recognition of older pony fans was mentioned
-4 of the mane 6 voice actresses were revealed:
- Applejack: 徳井青空　Sora Tokui
- Rarity: 佐々木未来　Mikoi Sasaki
- Pinkie Pie: 三森すずこ　Suzuko Mimori
- Rainbow Dash: 橘田いずみ　Izumi Kitta
- The 4 voice actresses listed above are the main characters in Tantei Opera Milky Holmes
- toy line marketed towards young girls
- other merchandise such as magazines, accessories, and smart phone applications will be marketed towards middle school age through college (and if I know my Japanese marketing, you are SURE to get a TON of awesome, made only in Japan pony merch!)

- 52 episodes confirmed (season 1-2) but if it remains popular, we are sure to get season 3 and beyond

I am a big lover of hentai I really haven't gotten into anime properly but i am fascinated by Japan, their dedication to visual art is amazing, and I've always been very curious why they weren't on board sooner. With Touhou being as huge fanbase over there (larger and and pre-MLP) i welcome to see just how obsessed they get with the show and what THEY can creatively come up with as well (products, games, music, art, and of course r34). This could just explode over there.

But hopefully Hasbro might be more relaxed with merchandise too. Image if they allow different and equal amounts of merchandise and figures over there then they do over here.

Although I took Japanese for only a year I would probably watch these just for funsies. They will probably choose really good voice actors and l'II be damned if they do not come up with an excellent theme song (I am expecting it to be on par with the Italian one guys)

I'm excited too. They only account for maybe 1-2% of it now. I can just imagine that we'll see all kinds of doujin come out in the future (nothing too impressive so far). Imagine if that become a 50/50 ratio!
