Best I've done (as of yet) is climb on top of an old furniture factory, hop the fence on my local public pool, and check out a sawmill. Oh, and hop the fence of my old elementary school's playground (on the weekend, ofc). Gonna see about exploring an abandoned office building in the industrial park down the street from me. There's also an abandoned factory near that but all the accessible perimeter is blocked off with a barbed wire fence :/

dude urbex is the coolest thing evah

For my art class I interviewed some person about that but I've never done it. However I am hoping to do a segment on urbex in my magazine eventually.

It's a great idea. makes me feel like a little kid going on an adventure.

Yeah, now that winter's pretty much over I'll see about trying to find places with a couple friends. I don't live in a city, unfortunately (the closest city, Worcester, isn't a place you want to walk around, at least in the urban areas).

That sounds like it could be quite a lot of fun, and being a photographer those pictures were inspiring.

I have climbed on quite a few churches, not really impressive or anything. We climbed to the top of a four story stone bell tower once at night, twas a nice view.

Me and some friends explored a burnt down and cut off part of my town. Specifically explored a really old, burnt gas station that was supposedly haunted. The experience there definitely confirmed that. We also found a cool little suitcase while we were exploring that had some clothes in it (mind you, this suitcase was in the middle of a building that burnt down) and a few bucks in it. It was pretty cool.

I sometimes wear full concert dress (bow-tie and all) and just see where I can get into. A surprising number of high-end theatres, concert halls, etc will let you in if you look confident (especially if you have a prop like an instrument case)!

Yeah, you can get into 90% percent of places and do 90% of anything without anyone saying if you just look confident.
One of my camp counselors at music camp once walked straight though central camp (with about 250 people around) in boxers and a undershirt, and no one stopped him. It was literally the most hilarious thing ever.

On the subject of draining; about 30 minutes from me is the city water-treatment facility, and they really don't care about people walking around. If you make sure no one is paying close attention (or you have a REALLY good excuse/reason) you can actually get directly into the sewers from a set of stairs in the back of the plant. There is a giant waterfall from the cleaned water, and there are a ton of really cool plants growing nearby (they use them to clean the water before the actual purification begins), so its like an underground jungle.

Apparently Melbourne is like capital of the world for this stuff. Search up the Cave Clan, they pretty much know everything about every bit of the Australian underground.

I envy you.

I'll bring my good camera this weekend and see if I can get some cool shots for you guys!

Interesting concept. But no, I'd never do this. It's essentially exploring a grotty ol' drainpipe from what I can tell. The photos are neat though.

It's not just drain pipes... that's just piping... it's essentially exploring cool places... mostly abandoned

About to dump some photos... I was walking around Lifou, New Caledonia and found an abandoned concrete shack thing near a beach... so I took some photos... they aren't too good because my meter was broken and I had to take photos and then get out of there... so yea... they're a bit dark

Huge Picture dump incoming!

These are some crappy iPhone pictures from a couple of drains me and my friends did this weekend.

Image
The entrance to Tube City

Image
Just past the entrance

Image
This manhole was already open when we got there. It was completely surrounded in deep snow though.

Image
Me at a little outdoor area we found. Not sure where this was topside, but it was about 15 feet tall, and opened up fully to the sky

Image
Looking back in from the outdoor area

Image
Checked 35 years ago? Seems safe enough.

Image
My friends head sticking out of a manhole we popped

Image
Tunnel got taller here. Curse being 6' 4"

Image
Popped a manhole and found ourselves right next to a highschool, and a red light. The looks on peoples faces were priceless.

Image
After a long trek we saw an exit, unfortunately it was barred off. My friend managed to get his hand through the bars to get this picture of the sign. Again, waving at the people in the park was hilarious.

Image
Me in the guillotine room. I'm now ded

Image
Sketchy manhole ladder

Image
Getting further underground. The natural lighting here was amazing. Also my finger is in the bottom of the picture, because I'm professional at taking pictures.

Image
Huge tunnel we found, biggest I've seen to date.

Image
Even further underground.

Image
Friend shining a light down the big tube.

Image
Quick group tag and time stamp for future generations to enjoy.

We also found tags from a local urbex group from 2002, and a tag from Australia's Cave Clan. It was pretty cool.

The Goose, in Sweden was a radarstation in Karlskrona. The station was built 1952 and by the time of opening it operated a PS-16( a radarsystem used by the swedish airforce in the 1960. In 1965 it was replaced by PS-65. The bunker contained operatorrooms, a workshop, storagerooms and barracks. The PS-65 system was cancelled in 1982 but the bunker remaind in service untill 1992 and in 2004 the bunker was sealed. Me and some old friends decided to go there last year.

These pictures are not mine but it looked pretty much like this

I snuck into an abandoned aluminium factory when I was thirteen. Unfortunately, it's been full of construction lately. I guess the owner finally decided to fix up the poor place. What a shame for me.
