Yeah...apparently not the most original idea for orchestral stuff XD
But here it is anyway :3

This is actually my first Orchestral piece. Feedback?

What is love?!

This is really amazing piece, especially when it is only your first attempt at this genre. There were only two things I noticed that were slightly "off":

The xylophone/marimba instrument you used had a slightly clicky sound to it; try adjusting the "hold" time on the instrument if you can so that the sound is more staccato.

Second, brass and string instruments don't usually have much in the line of a Portamento when they are being played in a group. Generally if there is a slide, its very short and indistinguishable. That being said, the effect worked for this song, so its really a call of taste.

Overall, its a really awesome song; great job.

Also, I'm guessing the title is supposed to mean "Moon Fall" or "The Moon Falls" or something in that line. Technically, the way its being said, it translates, "I Fall of the moon." To correct this, change it to either "Luna Lapsum" or "Luna Lapset" (5 years of Classical Latin)

It was a music box...so there wasn't any editing of the sound at all actually o.O
Yeah I was trying to get an erie lunar feel with the portamento strings :D
Thanks for the feedback!

(probably not gonna change the name because I already have everything set up :/ but thanks for letting me know!)

That string part would sound really good as a solo violin up an octave. Try get a live player if you can, or ask someone with a good violin library. ^^

Watch out where you put dissonance -> if you put notes that are dissonant in lower notes, you get phasing patterns that feel uncomfortable to listen to. Of course, that can be an effect, but generally have your notes with larger intervals as they go down.

I like the music box sound~ although the reverb you've got sounds 'noisy'. I don't know if you have any impulse response tools or another reverb unit that can deal with that.
Failing that, try double it up with a celesta or something.
