[Pony][Wip][Critique Please] Conduit - Dreams of Flight

This is a quick piece, took me a few hours to finish. It's repetitive, sleepy, and not meant to be a masterpiece. Critique is encouraged.

To-do:
- Play with drum volume / velocity
- Play with cello volume in the intro

I don't really listen to pieces like this (Orchestral-based), so do take my critique very gently.

I love the mood of this piece, it really does breathe what you've titled it, I definitely feel a connection between both the title and the piece itself. I love the whole flow of it, and the tempo changes fit quite well imho.

I love the little arpeggio you throw in there, adds so much flavour to this piece, but I feel that it might be too far panned to the right, it was very noticeable, and became somewhat of a distraction at 2:20 ish with the piano. I'm not too sure if the panning like that is regular in orchestral-based pieces, so definitely take that critique light to heart.

As for the repetitiveness that you so speak of, it might have been, but I barely realize it, maybe it's because I got sucked into the piece because I love calm, gentle songs like this. Maybe leave that for someone with a bit more knowledge on this side of the spectrum to critique.

Thanks, the panning was an issue with how I exported it, it'll be fixed in the final version.

Sorry my last post was so short, I was at a friends house. I didn't mean to blow off your critique that hard. :/

Anyway, your critique is just as good as any other, regardless of if your comfortable with the genre. You pointed out some important things I missed, and it really does help. So thanks again, and I'm glad you enjoyed the piece, I'll post the final version here once I'm done.

Oh it's fine! I didn't feel you avoided my critique one bit, don't worry about it and good luck with the final piece!

Sounds good.
Try playing with a delay/echo synchronised to the beat. It'll be interesting to hear the dissonance of the echoes of the old notes against the new harmonies.

That kick drum is very prominent - if you're mixing on small headphones, take a look at the waveform after you've bounced down and you'll see the peaks!

I'll try the echo, and I'm aware of the multitude of mixing issues, but thanks anyway for taking the time to listen and offer your advice.
