So what did you all think of the episode? That ending seems like the kind of thing people could get really divided about.

I didn't like it, myself. I liked the rest of the episode, but man did that ending feel rushed. I mean, I don't like the idea of Discord choosing friendship over chaos in the first place, but I feel like this needed to be a 2 parter if they were going to go that route. It felt like they had a good character arc planned but then just kind of aborted in the middle and rushed in this Grinch ending anyway*... I dunno. How did you all feel about it?

*Unless of course they're playing us all like pros and Discord is actually just fooling all dem ponies so they let their guard down so the ultimate lulz can begin... and perhaps leading to a good conflict for the season finale in the process? That would be amazing.

I missed the livestream as well, but just watched the episode in low quality, lol. It was a great episode. One of, or my favorite now. The biggest flaw I found in it was the the transformation was a bit sudden. They probably could have taken a small part out of the beginning (like when Fluttershy was getting the beaver to remove the dam at SAA at the beginning) to make a little bit more room for a slightly more in depth transformation or what not. But overall, really good episode.

I really liked this episode. Probably the best of all. And I didn't find it rushed at all, especially if you compare it to the two-part episodes (they feel really rushed especially Sombra's episode)
Yeah, so that was lovely. I'm not shipping it though.

ALSO: Anybody notice that today's episode of MLP came out on the weekend of Martin Luther King day? I think that is the reason they delayed it... It's a fitting tribute in my opinion.

Felt rushed to me. Discord was being discord, discord flip flopped and was nice. I think episodes like this would have done good to have a longer time slot to let the plot develop more before resolving. I like what happened in the episode and the outcome could have been the same, but it was like they started getting in the groove of the story and found out it had to end in the next 60 seconds so they brick walled his rehab, which I absolutely loved his feels for having a friend.

I still liked the episode, but it could have been done better with an extra 5-10 minutes tacked on. A shame that cartoons/shows are stuck with a 15-30 run time. But what can you do?

I pretty much agree on everything above. It would have been better as a two parter instead of just 22 minutes. But overall a great episode

I think the Discord line that was supposed to make the internet explode was when he said "Friendship is Magic!"

Also, 10 minutes after watching the episode, I remember that Celestia whispers to Twilight at the end that Twilight should keep the elements of harmony at her house, to keep it safe from Discord. And then suddenly it cuts to a close up of Discord, who apparently overheard this secretive exchange and reacts to this news.

What the fuck are they planning for the season finale????

I think we should get something up and running to try and convince Hasbro to start doing 48 or so minute episodes instead of the 21 minutes. Because it'll give them enough time to include some more parts to improve episodes a bit more or add in detail, and they won't need to rush the endings anymore.

Normally I'd agree with this, but keep in mind that the target audience is indeed young girls. Young people have the attention span of an A.D.D. riddled goldfish. They can get away with the hour long thing every now and again, but doing it too frequently would lose their target audience.
