<Pony><Remix>Smile Song 2k13 (Hands-up)

Postby RavingKeroro » 13 Jan 2013 01:44

Hello everypony! I just made this today. Basically a (techno) remix of Pinkie Pie's Smile Song!

It's my first attempt using a vocoder, and about my fifth song or so. It's really hard to balance everything ._.

Cool! For a first attempt with vocoder, the vocals work well here. I think it fits the song's mood nicely.
I've never tried using vocoder before, so it may not be best to take my advice too seriously, but in another discussion about processed vocals I remember reading that layering vocals together can help a ton. That way they can sound more "full" rather than just high pitched and stuff. Only briefly looking it up just now, I noticed a ton of great things to do to help it sound great.
It makes me want to give it a try~
That said, I love the track! The way you would blend in the acapella with the instrumental at times like 0.44 or at the end was smooth. Plus, the beat was A+.
Nice work!

I remember Glaze posted something a little while back about this. I think he layers them three times, one left, one right, and one right down the middle pitched up an octave. His vocals sound very nice.

This is really cool. I'd love to figure out how to make my vocals sound like this.
