Why did you pick the username you have?

Sports, politics, movies, videogames, questionable hobbies, photos from your family vacation, etc. Talk about stuff that isn't ponies or music. But do try to stay on topic and respectful of alternate opinions.

So LFP doesn't actually stand for 'Let's Fuck Polar(bears)'?

Hangin' From A Cloud wrote:I was just on a holiday in Transylvania when I thought up the name 'Hangin' From A Cloud'. I was sitting on a bus and was looking out the window. The sight was spectacular, we were driving on a mountain road, and the windows were overlooking a beautiful valley with only a few clouds strewn across the clear blue sky. One of my songs were playing in my head, and I thought: "this song feels like as if a pegasus is hanging on the edge of a cloud and is about to fall down". For some reason I really liked that "hanging from a cloud" thing at the time. It was kind of a "soft" name (fitted my soft-ish musical style), and one could say vaguely pony related (the pegasus and all...). And it... looks nice written down. So I rolled with that.
Afterwards I came to realise that it was a bloody verb and I'm calling myself an action, but whatever, I kept it.
Accidentally, the initials are all musical notes (H-F-A-C). I plan to do something with them, sometime.
This is just my brony artist alias however, in games and such I go by the bland name "starpirate94". But that's a different (and much more boring) story.

Since when was H a music note outside of avante-garde microtonalism?

The correct expansion is Least Fixed Point. A fixed point is a point on a function where f(x) = x, they are very important in pretty much everything. Apparently the LFP is usually more interesting than an arbitrary fixed point. There is also a bunch of random business firms and crap with the abbreviation, but that's more arbitrary than the Least Fixed Point.

It is actually. In traditional Swedish notation H is written instead of B
and B is thus used to notate A#.

Yeah, I looked some stuff up and apparently there is something about it in traditional German notation.

Heh.

I like that, that's a good one.

Anyway. "Berd" is sorta like a combination between Ed and Benn, my first and middle name respectively.
I literally just though of that less than ten minutes ago.

The real reason is because I've been told I look like Big Bird and was once told "Your G name is now Big Bird" my a good friend of mine. When I started getting into rap I just sorta rolled with that, named myself Big Berd. I've since dropped the "Big" for a multitude of reasons.

If I had a quarter for every time I had to explain my name, I'd have at least $30 by now.

I was 10, and making a youtube account. Even back then, I liked making fun of people over the Internet. I noticed nearly EVERYONE on youtube had some retarded 1337 name. So, naturally, I named myself, well, you know.

The Xs mean nothing, Dark and Shadow are meaningless, and I don't even know why I chose the number 79. I decided to stick with it for my artist name. Seriously, name ANY other artist that has ELEVEN syllables in their name.

So I'm not a poser, I'm just a dick.

"And it seems like all is dying" -the video above

Well, the story behind my name is twofold. I love to walk. It's the only time I'm completely relaxed and able to think clearly. Rebecca Solnit wrote that "the mind works best at three miles an hour". It's true.

I've always had a passion for reading equal to my passion for walking, and early on I found myself enraptured by Tolkien. Maybe I would have said Han Solo or Matthias from Redwall previously, but after reading The Fellowship of the Ring my concept of the ultimate action hero was absolutely, and for a long time after, Aragorn, the Strider. Just as every kid tasked with inventing an alias strives for one that embodies capability and cool, I made it my task to find something that carried a little mysterious spark of awesome. I did about as well as you might expect, but I liked the result enough to use it for just about everything. When the time came for me to dedicate my life to making musique poney, my secular musical alias Page Fortysix wasn't what I wanted to describe my internet self, so I used AdamTheWalker again - or AdamTh3Walker, thanks to a guy on YouTube who posted one video of his kid in a bouncy swing and then abandoned ship. So, there you have it. Sorry. I just really felt like writing something.

Tuner Symphon came from my OC that I actually made BEFORE I started making music, ironically. I use that name for all my pony music. It kinda just came from a combination of a fitting name for a full-time musician and over thought out family traditions of my OC.

I actually use a different name for non-pony music, and I go by Nulrei. It's a combination of the latin words "Nulles" (none/no) and "Rei" (Thing/Object). It roughly translates to "Nothing." I made it that because I was extensively told I would become nothing with my music. To retaliate, I called myself Nulrei to say, "I may be nothing, but I'm proud to be nothing." Woo.
