I'm here because you asked me to give you feedback, but I suppose it's only necessary since you also decided to remix the same song! And you also gave me feedback on my WIP, so I guess it's only courtesy to return the favor.

Well, HERE WE GO.

I like the synths in this song, especially those adorable plucks! I love pluck synths. Try adding in some more reverb do those things.

0:51, I like that you added the piano here!

It sounds like those sidechained pads could be more prominent in the song. Also, right before the drop at 2:10, I think you owe the song a short drum fill to enhance the drop.

2:41 OOH I like this part! Very nice choice to have a little instrumental break here. I like that lead too.

I like the fadeout of the song and your addition of and electric piano (or perhaps that's just a synth that sounds like an electric piano).

I think the kick drum you have is a bit too loud compared to the rest of the song, or the rest of the track is too quiet. I also think the kick drum could use a little bit less high end.

For those who may be listening to this song on built-in laptop speakers, ear buds, or plain speaker systems with no subwoofer (which would probably be the vast majority of any music audience), there is no audible bass synth in this song anywhere. This makes the song feel more empty and lacking in it's potential. A good, dancy, sidechained bass synth would work great in parts like 1:07 to 1:36 and 2:12 to 2:40.

Overall, the thing that I noticed the most is the kick drum. While this IS an electronic dance song, and the kick drum is an extremely important ingredient in such a genre, I think that it stuck out way too much in the mix, and it's rather distracting. Perhaps it's because there's too much high end in it, or maybe it's that it's just too loud. At any rate, that's the aspect of this song that stuck out to me. As for the rest of the piece, I like it! This is a very good remix, especially for your first remix! Congratulations!

There, I gave you feedback. Happy? lol.

I do have to agree that listening through twice the only thing that stands out is that kick drum. I don't even think it's just the volume, but I don't think there's enough low end to it at all. You could benefit from much more low end with the kick in a song like this really. Nothing much more is going on with the low end I don't think.

Everything else is really good I think!

^ Best. Criticism. Ever.

Seriously though, cheers. I've had a LOT of complaints about the kick, which I should have noticed before uploading but sadly didn't. I would amend it, but I figure I'll keep it uploaded and work on my next track with the knowledge I've gained from this one. :)

@Cloud: Yeah, it's something I really wish I fixed beforehand. It seems the general consensus is, "Decent song, kick has too much high end." I may upload a redux to SoundCloud at some point, so at least those listening to the YouTube version will be able to download the 'fixed' one.
