Nightcore: What is it, and HOW is it?

So my friend makes Nightcore, and at first I was impressed he made music (that would make us the only two "music producers" in my class), but after investigating Nightcore it looks like it's just a song with a sped up tempo. So, like, are these "Nightcore" makers really good music editors? Or is it just a tempo increase, nothing special? Thanks.

As far as I know Nightcore is just a buzz word for slightly sped up tracks, theres not much to it.

Nightcore "remixes" are just as bad as "dubstep remixes" made by people who don't even have artist names.

I've seen a few Nightcore tracks which are actually "remixed"

others are just sped up chipmunk shit

Lol I actually made a video about this asking what Nightcore is. Yeah, some producers are trying to make it a legit genre, but to its core it's just tracks sped up. Caramelldansen (uma uma) is basically Nightcore and Speedycat is a Nightcore remixer.

What are the odds, right? σ(^_^;)
