A capella group startup!?

Postby Biscayne » 20 Nov 2012 20:33

Hey guys,

First off, Name's Biscayne, I do mostly vocal work but dabble in arranging.

I was wondering if anyone had thought of doing an acapella group a la "Rockapella" within the community. If there is one, then why haven't I heard of it?

If there isn't, who would be interested in starting one?

Thanks
Biscayne

This sounds like a fun idea. I'd be all for helping out with it. Not going to be something that is easy to do however.

No, probably not. But, if it were easy to be good, everyone would be great.

I'd love to at least try and do some singing.
I have this mic sitting around and nothing to sing.

Okay, so there is some interest.

Let's talk actually doing it.

A few major issues have to be worked out, like who is singing what. I guess I'd need an audition piece. Anyone feel up to writing a simple five-eight part acapella song? Or maybe I could arrange one real quick... Not so much for weeding people out, more for putting people in the right places.

EDIT: Just watched the latest episode. There's our audition song, as soon as I arrange it (gimme an day or so...)

If you have skype, it'd be really easy to organize everything through that.

Hit me up! I'm definitely interested. : )

Every time someone talks about skyping I die a bit inside.
I guess I should start using it.
