But yeah, I do listen to "real" dubstep more than any other genre. I think Skream and Kryptic Minds are kind of mainstream, though, and I wouldn't call them true badmen. Not like Hatcha, Kromestar, Cyrus, Blackleg, Aquadrop, or Mind. Those guys are the greatest musicians who will ever live, and nobody can call themselves a dubhead until they've heard at least one of them.
By the way:

One of my very early creations. Sort of dubstep, but 160 BPM and more Indian-influenced than Jamaican.

No song has that feeling like Kromestar's Ghostown:

I used them to make this song V
You've definitely given me an idea, though. And i'm liking the feels I would get from it.
Maybe a song like "Teeth" by shlohmo...
idk, i'm terrible at ideas.

NO NO NO NO NO
I really hope you're trolling. Why would anybody call Aphex Twin dubstep? If you're actually serious about this, I hate you.
Ed Viper wrote:Well, Come to Daddy is kinda dubstep-y.
I mean, at a really basic level, like "the bass is the melody" kind of basic.
ChromaticChaosPony wrote:I know what deadmau5 did with the song "Derp" or "One Trick Pony" isn't even close to "real" dubstep, but I'm considering giving that style of dubstep a try. I honestly perfer that style to both old school and the newer "brostep" stuff, even though I love both.
The sound design in brostep (I really hate calling it that) is great in my opinion, and the older dubstep sounds so smooth. However, deadmau5 rediculous attempts at dubstep sound like something that would do beautifully in underground night clubs and stuff like that.
Anyways, what do you think of that style of dubstep? Just curious of your opinions.
Edit: Those songs I mentioned by deadmau5 are in fact dubstep. 140bpm and half time drum pattern. Also helps that both of those songs have wubs. I like wubs.

By "that style of dubstep", do you mean electro house?
(If you watch this video, Joel says he only made one dubstep track in his life, which is New Dub5tep Thingy, and also his worst song.)
4x4=12 is a terrible album, anyway, in my opinion. Which is weird, because I love everything else deadmau5 has done.
