Sorry, no love shall be given to Sony Acid from me. I have used it, even produced an entire song in it, and after my experience with it I shall never use it again (thanks to ableton being vastly superior).

Besides VSTs? It would all come down to workflow and the ability or need to preform live. Ableton is hands down the best live performance program I have used and seeing the huge list of artists that use it many people agree with that. Try the demo and see for yourself if you like it over Reason. I have used Reason in my classes and I much prefer Ableton's workflow; specifically the session view and clip launching. If you feel you don't get enough out of reason and want to use VST's then I highly recommend Ableton.
