The hugging/venting thread

Sports, politics, movies, videogames, questionable hobbies, photos from your family vacation, etc. Talk about stuff that isn't ponies or music. But do try to stay on topic and respectful of alternate opinions.

Hmm, strange. When I visited Australia (went to Cairns for a diving trip) the culture seemed very Australian (or at the very least, not too American). Then again, I don't really know that much about Australian life (I went to the tourist traps, not the towns) so I guess it must really be a problem. Maybe it's time to inherit a little of America's (stolen from the French) nationalism?

It's hard to explain. Australia doesn't really HAVE a culture, despite popular belief.
Oh, and kangaroos are actually a slight pest here.

Not really venting, and I know this'll make me sound like an absolute bitch no matter how I phrase it, but I find it kind of hilarious how nobody ever replies to my music here

Bro dawg, I feels, I feels. We need to have a system here, man. Leave no music unchecked.

PEOPLE:
If you go to the music section and see a piece of music uncommented, CHECK DAT SHIT OUT, YO. Yes, I know it's infested with terrible wips, and on the worst occasions, my music, but this is a forum to LEARN. Last time I checked, part of learning is making mistakes. So people, let's dispense some criticism, and make this community (and by extension the world) a better place.

I mean, I can't do it ALL the time. Not with these college apps on my ass.

I planned to order the parts for my new computer build about 3 weeks ago, but since I live in Canada, Paypal apparently couldn't confirm addresses out side of the U.S., which Newegg requires, so they get the right shipping address.

So along with managing work, I talked to Newegg 3 times, Paypal 5 times, and my bank 6 times (Because at the time I thought this was the problem as it was not verified), All I got was shit answers, these people have no clue what they're doing, and I got different answers from everyone, everytime. On some occasions they told me to call for example, Paypal, and then Paypal would tell me to, for example, call my bank back.

After all this frustration for the last week or so, I was about to snap, I just want my fracking computer before my birthday (Which is currently 2 weeks away), so finally deciding to give up on Paypal, I went to my final option, I called my bank, and asked them to increase my limit.

I've only had my credit card for about 6 months now, and I was told it takes 9 months - 1 year to get your first increase. I was lucky. The lady I talked to said that she would increase it to $1,000. I was happy, but still not satisfied considering my computer would cost over $2,000. So I asked her politely, if she could increase it to $2,000 for just 24 hours. Not only did she do that, she gave me 1 week, and an extension (I can go over my limit by about $500).

I have never been so pissed, but so happy. Fuck you Paypal, all I can say, and thank you to my bank for being the most professional of the three. I am now getting my computer either this Friday or next week, and I will be finally able to not have overusage of my CPU.

Awesome!
Only issue: would it effectively be a loan? Don't want to dig any deeper now.
But hey, new computer, awesome!

A monetary story I have is that my brother ordered a clarinet. 2 weeks later, a package arrives on the door. It's a mother-of-pearl inlaid keys, flower dot carving on the front, 50 extra reeds (the blow point of the instrument) ALTO SAX. He checked his bank account and found he was charged NO EXTRA, even though there was about $250 difference.

Meanwhile I gotta get a job before the summer holidays again.

Lol to the sax. My shit with money story would be when I sold a $1700 camera and forgot to put signature confirmation on the shipping, meaning that the guy who got it just said he never received it (even though USPS said he did) and I lost $1700. Fucking hate that guy, I have his address too, and if I ever end up in Chicago, I'm paying him a little visit.

That feel, is greatly understood.
I haven't been able to record anything with my voice in it for a while now since my brother moved back in -.-

I got home, and the computer was on, as normal, but the wallpaper was gone, and there were like 30 errors on it, and in the very front was a message saying that there was an error with the harddrive, so they needed to so a scan, so they did. 7 errors, putting the harddrive in critical condition. So thinking smart, I decided to take my flash drive and put some of my really important files onto it (like my current WIP which I am, or was, in the middle of mastering, my custom make drum samples, etc...), but when I opened up "Libraries" to go and put the files onto the flash drive, everything was wiped. Nothing left. It has a few files, like downloads, user, programs, programs(x86), a bunch of other files, but nothing is in them.

So as of now, as far as I know, I lost a song that I was close to finishing, and was actually pretty amazing compared to some of the things I've made previously, and I'm not sure how long it'll be before I can access the computer again to make music. And, I DID plan on buying SB Cyclop, but the sale ends Nov. 2nd, so if I do get access to buy that, I won't be able to because I only have enough money to buy it when it's 50% off. However, if I'm lucky, all the files will still be there, because under "My Computer" it still showed that we had like 753 GB free of 931, so I'm guessing that we still have the files, but one of the errors was that it couldn't read the harddrive, so the files, I'm assuming, are still there. So yeah, our main computer is pretty kaputt right now.

Nah guys, my dad got home and it's 'k now. Turns out it was just a trojan. Hid pretty much everything on the computer, disconnected it from the internet, a few other things, and then the harddrive scan was another part of the trojan to try and get us to buy their "product" that would "fix" the harddrive. So now my dad is going to remove the trojan. Hopefully in time for me to buy Cyclop. But thanks for your concern :D Also, Pseudo, I like your profile picture, and I cannot explain why. I just do.

Well, my grandma died yesterday. It's a terrible feeling to lose someone you held near and dear to your heart, especially someone who lived as long as she did (About 90). At least she's not suffering anymore, and I have some curtains she gave me that act as a reminder of her kindness. The fact she was a WWII vet adds salt to the wounds (WWII is my favorite American war).

FUCK MY ROOMMATES AND FUCK MY LIFE! I FUCKING HATE ALCOHOL!

I don't understand, if alcohol is the root of your problems, then you stop drinking right? NO! Apparently the logical solution is to spend all your money on beer! Then be late on rent! Then get an eviction notice! If that isn't enough! Why not throw another random fucking party 4:00 in the morning and wreck shit and flush my fucking damage deposit (that I paid by myself) in the damn toilet! Apparently the landlord called the cops! I don't fucking blame him! If I heard people punching holes in my wall I'd fucking call them too!

It's my name on the rental lease, and my damage deposit, and I barely have enough money to even find a place to stay by myself! All I wanted was a quite place to study for school, is that so much to ask! I don't drink or do any drugs, or cause any mischief, why the fuck am I being punished for this?

The only thing I'm guilty of is trying to be an understanding person, and give people second changes!

FUCK SECOND CHANCES!! NOBODY DESERVES THEM!!

AAAAARRRRRGH!

Sorry, I felt more comfortable venting to people I hardly know, then on facebook with people that I do know.

Shit, I want to say something on Facebook but I can't. I don't want anyone worrying about me.

Also, Pickslide1992, I'm sorry to hear about your grandmother. She sounded like a wonderful lady. My Grandfather died a few years ago, and it was also a big shock to me. I really looked up to him, and even today when I'm in a bad mood, I think about how strong my grandfather was. He is a source of inspiration for me. He was a very hard working and loving man until the day he died.

In fact, remembering him now is starting to calm me down. Thank you! :D *Huggs*

So wait, did your landlord kick you out, or just your roommate? Can you find another person to room with? One who doesn't drink? Sorry to hear about your situation, man. Hope you can keep a roof over your head.
