Forever Broken Music

Postby Tarby » 10 Oct 2011 13:37

Gonna try to keep it to one thread, just to keep it maintained.

It's for the followup to my song, "Something Broke", which i intend to be a full length release

First song (maybe 2nd track on the album)

Made in Guitar Pro 6

Guitar 2+3 (doubled): Distortion, bridge pickup, Drop B: BADGBE
5 String Bass (Tuning BEADG)
Drums
Cello
Contrabass
Flute
Hahaha I don't even go on here anymore
Seriously hit me up on skype or something, I'm rarely if ever online here.

[20:46:35] Interrobang Pie: same bass note forever
[20:47:12] Interrobang Pie: wow i wish i wrote music in which i could get away with repeating the same thing over and over!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But seriously though, this sounds like a great start or wherever you're putting it!!!!!!

The crashes starting at 3:46 are really off-putting for me for some reason. Could just be these really bad headphones.

So...much...pedal point...
It was nice, it didn't move very much harmonically for my tastes, but I imagine people less snob-like will enjoy it!
I'm also thinking that the flute was a tad too quiet! But that's all the feedback I can think of for now!
Tubeyou
You are the hero My Little Remix deserves, not the one it needs.
So we’ll hunt you. Because you can take it. Because you’re not our hero.
You’re a silent guardian of music, a watchful protector of songs.
A doctor of dissonance.

The pedal point was supposed to be a drone kinda thing. the way i envision it, under neath all of that will be a heartbeat sample, as well as other noises, feedback, and the like spaced throughout the song and growing in intensity. The song is coming out of a nightmare, and is gonna focus mainly on vocals, so the guitar is mainly to add atmosphere. Essentially, this is the music part of the song xD the noise part will make up for it's lack of movement, and the vocals will make up for the lack of melody.

Also, the flute i'm tweaking; the way i envisioned it was to have it be almost like a synth: with a shit ton of delay and possibly just reverse the track.

Idk xD it's still so far in the developmental stage it's not even funny xD

Updated the file, now it's got this really awesome thing going on at the end, which is supposed to be the beginning of the followup song (first song with pinkie. It's gonna be essentially a pinkie vs. pinkie song)

Something Broke is probably my favourite piece to come out of the Brony music world, so the fact that you're getting into the sequel is awesome. I'm listening to this now and already i'm gushing with excitement. Gushing.

Some thoughts:
1) flute would need to come up in an actual version, it's too soft, and it is providing the driving melodic force at this point in time.
2) That ride is amazingly too loud. Ow.
3) In terms of the riff coming in at 5:02, I have a lead line that'll probably fit over that for some awesome times. Will write it up and send to you sometime tonight, hopefully.

As I mentioned before, I'd love to help out in anyway possible with this project. Gushing.
