I can't even pinpoint the day my parents found out, because it was almost the day I started watching the show seriously. Both of them took it in stride, but they've really always just accepted the things I'm interested in, and have been wary of "molding" me into their image. They've even sat down and watched a few episodes with me.

My sister on the other hand, refuses to watch the show, and says I need to stop liking girly stuff. I don't really have the heart to tell her she's being misogynistic, since she's the one that taught me just about everything I know about feminism. I think she's joking, but it still makes me sad that she won't give the show a chance, since I think she, of all people, would really enjoy it.

My friends are a mixed bag. Most of them accept it, even if they find it kinda weird. Some even gave it a shot, although most of them say it's not for them. One that stands out is a guy who's a fair deal younger than I am who gets extremely angry every time it's brought up. I have trouble understanding where that comes from.

I've also become notorious among my co-workers for liking the show. I work at Target, and got my boss to let me take home the Celestia display from the Canterlot set (in fact, that picture on the Nightly Roundup post that talks about it is from my room). Most of them just regard my fanhood with wry amusement. A few have tried it out to see how they like it. One has been converted.

Do you have easily-noticeable figures in your room?

I actually display them prominently alongside my transformers. I'm running out of room for both. :\

I was gifted with my mom's storytelling, so my explanation to my parents was dragged out and awkward and ugh. But they don't care, they like the music I make and think it's cool that there's such a huge following. My mom once remarked that other parents said bronies were sexual deviants. I showed her Dustykatt and she said he looked like a sexual deviant xD. They're both teachers (that work at my school ;~;) and one day in my mom's class she saw a girl with a RD shirt on, suddenly stopped mid-sentence and went off about how I "watch the show every day" and holy shit embarrassment.

As you can tell, this is a picture of me at my family reunion woulda found the picture from facebook, but I'm on my school laptop atm, so there's filters set. This is what I could find.. Although the labels are probably hard to see. The one on the left end, I'm not sure about, and the one boy with the minecraft shirt is my little brother, the only one there who hates mlp. (and he does with a passion). Other than those two and my grandma, everybody pictured there is a brony or pegasister. and before you ask, I'm the one with the black shirt that has rainbow dash's cutie mark on it, near the end. And there's a huge slew of littler kids who aren't quite old enough to be considered bronys or pegasisters. This is just my dads side of the family. The adults are really indifferent about the show. I'm pretty sure that none of my moms side watch the show.

How do my parents react?
They actually find it pretty cute. They don't like sit down and watch it with me or anything, and they haven't seen any episodes, but they're positive about it.

My mom doesn't really talk about it, although she does sometimes buy me merchandise (like a brony button and dash shirt [the "this shirt just got 20% cooler" one] and even "Minty's Very Special Christmas" or something like that, from an older generation on accident). My mom doesn't see the difference between g4 and the other generations, even though she's huge into photography, and has a good eye for stuff.

My dad is friendly about it, and will tease my little brother about small things relating to the show when it's brought up and I'm around. It pisses my brother off, of course, and when my brother gets really angry my dad just says to relax, you're too sensitive about it.

The majority of my friends that I've told about the show have watched it and most of them like it, except for one, who thinks it's absolutely dumb, so I tease her about it. I've also seen various other bronys and pegasisters around my school at times (evident by the pony shirts, of course), and sometimes I contemplate starting an after school brony club. Of course, I currently go to a school of 1,200 (although I moved over the summer, last school I went to had 2,400 students), so finding other bronys isn't that hard.

They honestly don't care. Like, my step-dad thinks it's neat that I like a show for what it is and not for it's connotations of being girly, my mom thinks it's pretty funny, and they both say that bronies are some of the nicest people they have ever met.

Well, now that this is alive, I'll toss in my bit or whatever.
Basically, because I made my facebook with my family's email, we got emails whenever I got a notification. I have since learned that I can turn that off, but at the time, it was still going, so my mom was seeing everything I did on facebook. Me and my friends have these facebook groups where we can dump all of our stupid stuff and talk about things, with specific groups like "Funny Stuff" and "Game Stuff" so I proposed "Pony Stuff" and my mom saw it and asked me about it. Basically my parents and little brother know about it now, and I doubt my parents understand it because I haven't really explained it yet, but they don't mind. I'm in the middle of watching season 2 with my little brother right now, so he's basically converted.

Yeah, I moved during the time I was discovering ponies, so all my friends back in WA, the ones i'm in the groups with, are bronies, but hardly anyone at my new school seems to know about ponies, and I don't want to get labeled as "that weird guy that likes ponies" when most of the kids at my school don't really know anything else about me. So I keep it to myself at school.

Dad at first shrugged, now humorously thinks all ponies are "Bronies" and refferred to my twi plush as a "cute brony". He was the first parent I felt comfortable talking directly about the brony culture to (brought up how howard stern was attacking us: His reply: Well howard stern makes a living on attacking good people so if hes attacking bronies you must be good people). Mom I think didn't know what to think of it at first, mentioned it was a phase, but now she totally had no issue looking for pony merch when she went down to the states. I still do wonder what my parents think about my figure collection tho...

My cousin was "WTF" about it at first but couldn't believe when I told him the amount of pony music out there and that I DJed it. Now hes pretty chill about it all.

My classmates at college were the most relaxed about it all, very much a, cool whatever floats your boat man. My professor/program director has heard about bronies, and thinks its awesome that hes got one in class.

My mom tends to never bring it up. I don't think she gets it. She never wants to know more about it or even seems to be curious about it. All she knows about it is that I watch it, I have 2 brony shirts, and that I went to a convention once. My uncle is way cooler, though! He actually got into the show. I wouldnt call him a brony, but he likes the show, and he at least has seen it.

Well when my mum saw me watching it (for the first time) she just kinda laughed awkwardly and walked out. Now there's just this really awkward moment when anything pony related happens, where she looks at me and it feels like she's staring into my soul (because she probably is).
