Help with Rap

Postby lifeofthe6 » 11 Oct 2012 00:51

Hello, I'm lifeofthe6. You may know me on YouTube as the terribly irresponsible mixer of Pony Swag Prime.
Anyways, I kind of need your help with how to make my verses sound smoother. I mean how do I make sure I enunciate well to create the clearest quality audio?

Also, I am using Audacity to mix my music. If you know about my Pony Swag Prime project, do you think this is a good program for a work of this scale? If so, what are some tips and tricks I can use to make sure it's the best quality it can be?

Thank you in advance.

Hello! I must say, Audacity is a good beginning program, since it's simplistic and easy to use, but I would suggest moving towards Logic or something like that for better sound quality in the future.

As for the rapping thing, all I can say is just practice. Sure, some things are easier to pronounce and thus make it easier to make the verses smooth, but you can give a super talented rapper a verse full of tongue twisters and they'd be able to do it, and it's because of practice. Take some of your favorite rap verses and then say them to yourself, but start off slowly.

Anyhoo, that's all I really have to say.

When creating in rap, I see things as there being two sides to the spectrum to understand.

Lyrical - Performance.

With the lyrical side of things, you can better 'prep' your lyrics to be easily manageable
and fit perfectly to you and your voice if you pay attention to certain things! -- Add me on skype, we can talk more on this.
