The instruments are heavily afflicted with Machine-gun-itis. No round robin for your strings, mate?

I like the idea, mainly because it reminds me of the Curious Village (fuck yea Professor Layton), but the instruments themselves should be looked into; it sounds very "midi".

Also, it could benefit from some more expression, articulation, and dynamics. And spread the sound across stereo-wise; you can make it sound "bigger" that way, and take advantage of the fact that orchestras have each instrument in a separate-ish position.

p.s. What did you write this on?

Yeah, I really know nothing about production. Any good tutorials for orchestral production?

I used MuseScore, midi to Reaper, VST Kontakt 5 factory library.

Pretty much what Omnom said.
That trick I said a while ago about pitchbending notes above and below the one you want will help with that machinegun problem. But yeah, just work on building the mix better. You're unfortunately using very average samples, so you'll have to work harder!

Basically the best thing you can do in terms of instrument sound is just to get a better library, definitely one with round-robin. It'll help you IMMENSELY, trust me.
Apart from that, your writing is pretty nice at times. Using a notation program, as you do, is a good way of mapping out your song (at least for non-electronic instrumentals like these).

I mean, if you can tweak the sound, mix, and expressiveness, this could be a pretty interesting song.

Also, I'm a bit curious to hear what this would sound like under my libraries. If it's okay with you, could you be so kind as to share your .RPP file? :)

P.S. I honestly don't know where to look for orchestral tutorials myself... other than Youtube, of course, but I personally don't trust that place... *shudder*

I made this .wav with your midi file. I used a different library, meddled with the stereo a bit, and added a touch of reverb. I didn't bother messing with any of the notes or expression, though.

I'm just fooling around at this point, :P
