Both of these genres are usually labeled as just "French House". But there's a difference. Artists like Madeon and Daft Punk have a more funky, dance, house feel to it and tends to stick to ~128bpm, whereas artists like Justice and Uppermost have that gritty French electro-house bass, and a slower ~120bpm range. So, which do you think is better? Post your opinion.

Well I'm pretty much done with this site (it wasn't about the April Fool's joke I actually loved that). If for some reason somebody wants to contact me or something (not like any of you even care lol): email: [email protected]
Bothe are quite nice but part of the reason they are different is because they came out in 2 different time periods (mid and late 90' for Fr. House, early 00's for French Electro) and have different sounds (repetitve disco vs modern electro). I think you have to thank Daft Punk for moving to electro on their third album in assisting with that shift. Also check out a load of great Frnech House solo releases and collabs between them on the Roule' label.
Personally, after listening to all of these last night, and I knew of Justice and Madeon before, but didn't care much for them, that's all changed, I'm hooked on French House/Electro now. Sooooo smooooth.

For example, I know (think?) that Madeon counts as french house, but just yesterday I was told that skrillex isn't dubstep, but he's apparently "brostep". Do I need to get a PhD in EDM subgenre names so i can talk to the people that make EDM? ;~;
I've heard that "Skrillex isn't Dubstep, he's Brostep" a million times myself, I don't really like the whole people being so critical on what genre it is, that's why I just call everything EDM now, I do cringe when someone calls Drum & Bass "Dubstep", or someone calls Drumstep (Which is Drum & Bass at a half beat tempo) "Dubstep", but I won't be overly critical.

I thought drumstep could be either that, or dubstep at the speed of drum and bass. I have no idea at this point.
This is an example of something I think is drumstep:
Is this actually drumstep? Please correct me if I'm wrong.
Nope, sorry, that's drum and bass.
This would be drumstep:
ANYWAYS, let's not derail this thread. In my opinion French House and French Electro pretty much sound the same, so I can't say I really have a preference between those two. In fact, I sometimes have trouble choosing between house and electro. However, I do like electro just a bit more, (Because of complextro) so using basic logic will tell me that I like french electro more.
I'm not sure if a single word of that post made any sense.
