Been playing 8 years of piano (and other keys), since... erm, what was it? When I was like 6 years old, perhaps a bit younger. That was when I FIRST entered the beautiful world of music. Been playing clarinet for about 5.5 years, about. Still actively playing both instruments.

Been studying theory for 1.5 years, and am now taking a basic (REALLY EASY-BASIC HIGH SCHOOL STUFF) theory class.

Composing, however, started approximately 9 months ago, just before my 14th birthday, methinks. I got into production at that time; been loving ever since.
In fact, pony got me into composing. If it weren't for mlp, I'd probably be stuck under a rock right now.

I'm always half-asleep, and I hate dubstep.
Also, you know that other, way more awesome Nomnom guy who shows up on EQD sometimes? THAT PERSON IS NOT ME.
We just happen to have similar pseudonyms.

Been playing guitar for 4 months and loving it.
In total, been playing the bass guitar for 3 years.
I never took piano seriously but I can play it if that makes sense. I only decided to take a class in highschool on it which I excelled at and just recently got a midi piano this January so....Piano for about a year.

Been producing music for 10 years; just now hitting 3 years using FLStudio. I'm making progress thankfully but I still suck lol.

Oh come on, man, you're being unfair on yourself-
You're taking those lulz-worthy guitar classes (Mauer is just the best, ain't he?), as campy as that experience might be, you might finally learn to play a groovy instrument.

Even though I personally came out of that class knowing about as much as when I came in(and an A for basically existing), you have something to gain, particularly learning how chords and scales work.

If only he taught us how to do all the solos he messes around with in class during warm ups.
If only there was a guitar class for people who already could play the damn thing. (Advanced guitar maybe?)

But my class was just the best. Everyone who didn't get the elective they wanted got dumped in guitar, leaving the class to the mercy of the cacaphony of an entire student body actively pissing on my favorite instrument. Needless to say, even though the shit we were taught were the simplest little ditties you could play, there were a lot of F's. You kinda needed to work towards failing that class.

I need to start practicing more.

0?

Since I don't really produce music, I'm more a vocal tool. Barely even human in that respect...

First off, I want to say how jealous I am of the people who have taken instrument lessons for long periods of time, and have been producing for long periods of time.

I started taking private piano lessons in second grade from this amazing guy, who at the time made electronic music, which after finding the album he gave me online, he made a sorta acid jazz type of music. He owned like 10 or so midi keyboards, some going into the $700 price range. He was a great guy.

Anyways, so I started piano lessons in second grade, and got to 7th grade before I finally decided I wanted to stop taking piano lessons, out of desire to look "cool" and how the the piano was portrayed as "not cool". Big mistake, I know. So around 6 or so years of piano lessons.

After those 6 long years, I dropped pretty much all touch with the music world. I didn't really care for the music that played on the radio, I didn't listen to a whole lot of music in general. Luckily, back in July 2011, while investigating MLP, I came across DJ Alex S. I became intrigued by dubstep, so I decided to investigate some more, going to Skrillex, and then searching through various other brony musicians and good dubstep artists. Then February 2012, I decided that I really liked Alex S's music, as well as Skrillex's, and I wanted to make dubstep. So I did google searches and found software, etc etc. Now here I am, 8 months into music production.

TL;DR?
Took piano lessons for 6 or so years, been producing for 8 months. Alex S and Skrillex were my main sources of inspiration to start music production.
