The Dream Thread

So dreams are always an interesting topic of discussion. One dream I've had, and one that tends to get a few laughs when I tell it, goes like this.

So I was a pilot to this large passenger airplane. I was talking to my co-pilot, I don't know about what, but we were flying through a rough storm. Looking out the windshield, I could see dark clouds and lighting. Then we flew right into a storm cloud, so I couldn't really see anything. Then I hit a woman. She got stuck on the windshield. This is the part that seems to be funny, and looking back at it, and thinking of the plausibility and randomness of it, it actually is pretty funny, but at the time, it really creeped me out. She had a mangled face and was staring at me...

So what interesting dream experiences have you had? Have you ever had a lucid dream? Whenever I realize I'm dreaming, I immediately wake up for some reason. I remember a dream when I was in a living room, and I noticed someone walking by multiple times, like they were circling me, but they were walking in a straight line. I realized how odd and impossible this was and I woke up. I also tend to make worst case scenarios happen, almost consciously. Like I would think, it would really suck if an avalanche happened right now, and then it would happen :?

Lucid dreaming.. There's a monster I never attempted to tame.

Never thought it important enough to actually go through with all the steps, I barely get enough sleep as it is!

My dream experiences are interesting and fairly amusing in my opinion.
If it's not just the random story that involves something I had been dealing with that day, it's usually me and a cohort running from some official type because we been bad. =p Usually justified with extensive reasoning that I could never remember after I wake. Though, I'm pretty sure it's just garbage. xD
To judge ones intellect seems ignorant in reality.

I have really whacked out dreams.

One time, I dreamed that I was being attacked by a Japanese soldier with a bayonet screaming BANZAIiiiiii towards me, I had a gun and I pointed it at him but I didn't have a trigger on the gun so I was holding the gun and standing there trying to find the trigger and the guy stabbed me.

Another dream I remember is that I was a movie star and the room service came into my hotel room to offer me some severed human heads xD I rejected them and they got really mad so they commited suicide by jumping trough the window.

Or I had a wrapped gift and I was going to a funeral, everyone was at the funeral singing and dancing and they pointed me to the guy that died, he stood up from the cascet and greeted me and saw my present, I gave it to him and inside the wrapped gift was another wrapped gift, and then he smiled and said very happily and enthusiastically "Heey, fuck you!" like he was saying "thank you", and then the police came and arrested themselves.

I occasionally have some pretty intense dreams. Sometimes by the emotional aspect, and other times just by the stuff that happens in the dream. My favorite dreams are when I see or hear something completely out of this world, that when I wake up, I feel inspired to try and recreate those feelings through music.

If you want to experience more memorable dreams, have more lucid dreams, etc, then these tips will help:

1. Keep a dream journal. If you have an intense and/or memorable dream, first thing you should do upon waking is write it down, or type it out on the computer. Now, given the fact dreams are usually random, and a bunch of weird stuff happens, I'll keep a fair amount of the writeup as analysis. For example, instead of writing down, "Then I jumped into a giant can of soup," I might write, "We found a large pool, and I jumped in," or just simply omit it from the writeup. I like my dream log to at least make some sort of sense, so if a certain part doesn't tie in to the overall story and/or plot of the dream, I'll usually leave it out.

2. Put on a nicotine patch before going to bed. You WILL have some crazy, vivid dreams. I wouldn't particularly recommend this if you are not doing tobacco anyway though, as nicotine is addictive, and you wouldn't want to get yourself addicted to something you were not addicted to in the first place.

The other night I had a dream that some Hollywood screenwriter or something. He basically turned me into a vegetable, removing all my senses so I could do nothing but think. The idea was in that sort of state, you get really good at thinking, so this screenwriter guy harvested my thoughts for ideas for movies. Or something like that. I have strange dreams sometimes.

I die a lot in my dreams. The one a couple of nights ago was weird, though; normally when I die in dreams, I wake up straight away, but in this one, I was dead, but could still think and hear, but not see.

I dreamt once I was playing the piano. Don't remember what, though (though I do remember thinking it was soooo pretty :P). What I keep wondering about is if, when playing an instrument in a dream, does it actually (in the case of piano) accurately play the correct notes for the keys? It would so awesome if I could subconsciously remember the pitch for each key :)

I had a dream where I was playing Chopin and Rachmaninov pieces at a concert. After waking up, I went to a piano and was able to quite slowly play a very short section as I had remembered my hands move in my dream. I'm definitely not at that level in piano yet, so idk. Dreams are weird.

There were people talking, that's about it. I forgot to mention how I died - electric chair for some reason. Except it was quicker than it should have been - my hands exploded and I died straight away.

Last night I had a dream about exporting MIDI from Fl Studio 10. Because that's what I did the day before.

God my dreams are so lame.
I like to think I'm well-rounded because I'm not really good at anything.

I had a dream in which I craved chocolate milk. I opened the fridge and luckily there was chocolate milk. I was glad. But suddenly Jude Law barged into the room with a Tommy gun and started to shoot at me. I was not going to tolerate his bullshit and pulled up my own Tommy gun and started to shoot at him. Then his friends came along and joined him and they were all wearing fedoras. Nobody died though.
