Um. Hi. As you may be able to tell, I am as new to the site as one can be. I looked around a bit and I think I know the basics.
But I'm not here to introduce myself any further, let's move on to the actual point of this thread;

I'd like you to listen to the first full track I've ever made from scratch, as presented below in a nifty YouTube embedding

Now, the title might be taken as a reference to a certain purple unicorn, but as the music sounds like anything but her I wouldn't call this pony music. Also, I never necessarily meant this to be a pony song :)

I worked on this song for 4-5 hours in total, starting from yesterday evening, so it definitely isn't top notch in complexity or quality. I still do hope you guys find it at least decent.

Oh, and I did see a lot of people use SoundCloud to present their work with, do you think I should consider that too?

E: Also, anyone care to identify the genre? I am terrible at that :lol:

Howdy TehSamu (Or would it just be Samu?), and welcome to the site! I hope you find it to your liking and have a great time here and whatnot. Also, congratulations on your first full song, sir. Champagne?

Although for me personally, the song seems a bit on the repetitive side. Like, it builds up and breaks down, but the note progression is pretty much the same throughout the song. As well, some of the drum samples sound a bit off to me, particularly the hi hat. But that's probably just personal preference.

Either way, congrats again on your song and welcome again to the forum!

Oh, and it's your call on the soundcloud thing. I mean, youtube embeds work just fine, and youtube is a lot better at exposing your music to non-mucisians, but on the other hand SoundCloud is free. Most people have both.

And sorry to say, I have no idea what genre your song would be considered, hah. Nor do I know the genre of my own tracks or just about anyone else's... I too am terrible at that.

Samu, TehSamu, either one will do. Friends call me Samu though :)

Thanks for the feedback! What I think you mean is that the song is solid (with a few spots that need tweaking) but nothing exceptional, am I correct?

Alright, I'll consider creating a SoundCloud account later on if it seems I could/would actually use one :D

Think I prefer Samu, myself. :」

Hey you're very welcome. I only wish I could give ya a bit better, more in depth feedback. Anyways, yes, if you were to ask me to summarize the track I'd probably say something along those lines.
Way better than I could do in 4-5 hours, though!

Might as well scope it out, right? A lot of people seem to use Soundcloud for posting more WIP/experimental type stuff, and Youtube for the finished polished songs. Or if you wanted to separate your music from your gaming stuff, you could do that or whatever. Or, I dunno... Podcasting? Audiobooks? Soundboards...? Anything is possible when you sign up for soundcloud TODAY! Don't forget to expand to SoundCloud Pro Plus! For only €59 a month!

...but yeah I wouldn't know I don't really use it.
