Nao, we make 2 songz, one solo, and one collab, 'den later onz, we are going to start the WTF collab which is basically instruments and genres flying evrywhere and you can add instruments to parts that are already there, we should keep a queue though.

Due date: Oct.31 (Waves, you should've posted it on the OP lol)

Actually Oct.31 was just a thought. Because we're doing so much, I think I may push it all the way to January. What do y'all think?

Well, we all seem to be doing several things at once, so the more time we have to do this, the better.

WavesOfParadox wrote:Our concerns weren't an assumption about "crunching power chords." They were simply about the guitar being tuned about as low as a normal 4 string bass. Also, you are wrong about the octave. Your drop E low E will be the same octave as the low E on my bass.

I do apologize if I came off as insulting. I'll just trust you know how to handle the EQ and distortion to make both parts clear.

It's fine.

Sorry I lectured you all on 8 string guitars and how they work.

BTW, it doesn't go into the same octave as your low E. That's for damn sure. Just your high E (I think).

From Wikipedia:

"The four-string bass—by far the most common—is usually tuned the same as the double bass,[5] which corresponds to pitches one octave lower than the four lower strings of a guitar (E, A, D, and G)."

Do we have a theme? Does it have to be pony related? I was kinda hoping a theme would make it easier for my 'element of suprise' to decide what it actually is. :P

Regarding the element of surprise, I'd just like to say that predictable chord progression + sudden unexpected chord = awesome. For example, I'm working on a song (not for this) with a bit that goes F C C#diminished, which I'm liking.

I'm going to try some house music and complextro for toastbeard and Pinkamena Party. If that goes well, I will be the element of whichever of the two I made.

Ok, I'm flipping through the pages so far, I think I'm on page 5.

For one, has anyone claimed an element of vocals yet?

For another, if we want a judging panel why don't we ask the up-tight music nazi assholes, er, I mean the glorious music judging gods of OCRemix.org? Of course, they'd probably be better off judging remix content, but they have a fantastic ear for good mixing, song cohesiveness, eqing, etc. If need be we can talk with the ponies in the MLR thread over in the OCR forums and see if they can help push this idea if you guys want to do that.

Oh, if you're going to click that link, you'll need an OCR forum account. Why? The MLP thread is in the Off-Topic center of the site which is not viewable by guests. Why is it in off-topic and not something guest friendly like community? well, the original poster gave the thread the original title of "Fuck My Little Pony" and went on a rant (kind of). Eventually that thread title was fixed, and last week or so, there was a new original post and, by extension, a new thread owner.

Wait how serious is this album actually supposed to be? I thought this was just a bit of fun, or is it serious?

If its serious, I'm sad, I was looking forward to labeling the worst track the element of gay shit. :(

Depends what kind of vocals. I claimed death metal.

Vocal elements still available:
Opera
Rap
Pop
Country
Jazz
Sexy Whispering directly into the microphone
yelling (like Solarac)
Using a foreign accent while singing

Also, male and female vocals sound very different, so if there are any female vocalists wanting to sing a genre already taken by a male, they can collaborate or something.

Sadly, I haven't seen a single female vocalist on MLR yet. I have seen many vocalists here period.

MLR needs more singers. I think I may start some kind of collab album where we all sing acapellas and shit like that until we get good at singing. I'm tired of only making instrumentals.

If someone else wants to start on this idea before me, go ahead. MLR desperately needs more vocalists.
