What is it?
The aim is for each individual to create a song that simplistic in nature but still engaging for the audience (not boring). Note: This is a free album.

What is the goal of this album?
To show people that you don't need to make complex music to make good music.

Rules & Guidelines:

1. Maximum length of your song is 6 minutes, I'll allow a couple seconds over but try to keep it below the 6 minute line.

2. A maximum of 8 instruments can be used in the song (drums count as 1 instrument, vocals don't count as an instrument, have as many of them as you want.)

3. Any genres of music are allowed.

4. Be creative, be unique, think out of the square.

5. You can submit multiple entries.

6. Keep things simple, that's what we're aiming for!

7. Pony related is a big plus, your song will have 20% more chance of making the cut if it's pony related.

Send your submissions to: [email protected]
Include in your message the songs track-name, artist name, and any individual song artworks you may have.

Deadline: October 24th

Due to the unexpected popularity of the album, I'm putting in a quality control. If your song doesn't reach the standards, we'll send you an email letting you know and giving some tips on improving it. That means the sooner your song is submitted the more time you have to fix it if it doesn't reach the standards!

Hey guys I like albums as much as the next guy, but there are a few albums active right now, maybe the announcement was better off at the beginning of September, when RW and F&S are due anyway?
Hey. Listen. I don't Care anymore. You hear me you Son of a Bitch? I'm old now. I have all the resources.

Announcing it now or then isn't really much of a difference, plenty of people have already finished their RW and F&S pieces. Not to mention the deadline isn't till october so its not like there's any rush for it.

I don't really like simplistic music, but it really depends in what regard. I guess I could try this, and if it ends up too complex, oh well.

I'm actually very much the same, the original idea of this album came from me wanting to challenge myself (and you guys) to something different. Embrace the challenge! :D

I loves me some simple stuff. Don't get me wrong, I love my weird, orchestral music and complextro, but simple music can so easily move the soul.

I'm so into this.

I don't make too complex music to begin with, but time to make things even more simple. I'm up for this too!

Absolutely love the concept for this album. Simple songs are quite often the best/most memorable songs. Thinking about doing a 4 channel MOD for this(google if you don't know what that is)

I just know I'm going to screw up on this. I always make things more complex than they need to be.

Well, at this point I have so much stuff to do atm, and I don't know what I'll actually finish, so I will most likely pass on this :/
Great concept, though, and if my schedule clears up at some point, I might contribute.

Because this album is free, am I right in assuming we can upload our tracks elsewhere (youtube, soundcloud etc.)?

I might actually give this a shot! Being a complextro producer (most of the time), this will be quite the challenge for me ^^

I think I'm going to do something with only 3 instruments: bass, piano and drums. And random glitched pony samples of course!

You're using the instruments of a jazz trio and you're using glitched pony samples?

I started it, and although it has the instrumentation of a jazz trio, it's not really jazz. Can I say groove oriented piano metal?!? lol. I really just want a chance to use the Glitch vst I've been messing with.

Also, I fixed your grammar error in the quote. :geek:

I think I'll make neurofunk and stick to one syncopation the whole song. And just have it mostly be drums and distgusting reese bass wubs. And a few ambient sounds to make it creepy.

Lol pretty much all of my songs are under eight instruments. (I think) This is gonna be fairly normal for me. I think I'll do some crazy genre that I've never even thought of trying. Maybe ambient...

NOTE: what I just said may be total B.S. I have no idea. It's late and I'm on my phone. :P

Since vocals don't count as an insturment. Can i do an acapella and have NO insturments? :D

(other than the occasional vocoder, but that still counts as vocals...)
