Now I'll just come out right with it; I want to fix the repetitiveness. Every time I try to change something, it doesn't sound right, and the further I go with it the more uncomforting it gets to be. It's annoying me to all hell, but I don't wanna stop trying. You don't exactly have to help me with this, you can point out some other things you may be good at pointing out or whatever, but I'm sure this is the thing that gets most people to stop listening. With a 5 minute track, I don't want people zoning out at 2-3. People have been trying to help me, which, well, didn't, to be abrupt about it. I definitely take every word people give me to full consideration, and work off of what people say ALL the time, but it just seems like my friends were being too...soft, or not as informative as I may have hoped for this kind of thing. This is where I hoped the friendlies of MLR could help me.

So...wat do.

This is silky smooth. I could listen to it fine, perhaps not in an intense fashion, but it's great background music (Please don't take that as offensive, I meant none at all!).

I'd recommend adding in some other vocal choppy-bits into the mix. Perhaps, since you were leading off with a consonant "Get" sound, perhaps an "Ahh" sound would work. Maybe even an "Eee" or "Ooh".

If you're looking for a nice percussive choice to give some more variance, perhaps a subtle shaker added in, to fill in the hi-mids, could work. Not loud enough to fight with the vocals, but enough to act like a pad and fill in any gaps.

The lead at the end was a nice touch too.

If you've been working at this non-stop, perhaps you should take a little break from it. Coming from another person who obsesses over minimalizing the repetition in his tracks, it sometimes works for me help clear my perspective.

That's quite all right! I've been told plenty of times that my music could go in games, which I guess is technically background music, depending on the game or whatever. I've actually been thinking about that, lately. Maybe once I get to a satisfying point with my music I'll start contacting game developers, just because.

I was considering more vocal chops as well, but they're from quite a short sample with very few good sounding bits. I'll try to go through some of my other samples and see if any bits from those can work.

A shaker could probably work, I'll definitely try that, too. I have kinda been working at it non-stop, but not enough that I'm getting utterly sick from looking at it or anything. I take enough breaks in-between making it. I'm pretty close to completing it, so I'm just gonna keep going with it.
