<Pony><Original><Orchestral> Stasis

This was my TB entry for last week. One problem I had with this was mixing. I'm not sure if I "fixed" it before releasing it but if anyone knows some good guides on mixing using orchestral samples please direct me there :D

0:00-0:11 hmm,the piano sounds flat (maybe add some reverb?), I would hold the lower note out longer and there are notes that do not need stress (need to be more quiet)
0:11 holy Celestia that melody with strings sounds amazing
1:09 the strings become even more awesome

I don't hear anything wrong with the mixing, but I'm not on expert on that.

Pretty good! I agree with Hangin', in that the piano (and the piece in general) sounds a little dry. Use some reverb, or use the sustain pedal on the piano.

Strings are nice and a good use of counterpoint. Sounded a bit like pass-the-parcel with motifs, which was good!

It gets a bit grating though as time goes on. The entire piece is basically 'plonk-plonk-plonk-plonk' repeat repeat repeat. Whilst the change in chord progressions was nice, I felt the lack of change in accompaniment and rhythm led to it getting repetitive. Mix it up! Take that plonk plonk sound and make it into 'ploploploplo plonk plonk ploploplonk' or soemthing like that.
Make it interesting!

Good overall though!

I agree, more variation is needed to keep it from sounding like a 90's PC title.

Thanks guys, when I was "mastering" this piece is was affraid of using too much reverb. I guess next time I shouldn't be too afraid to stick on a bit more reverb.

The repetitiveness of the piece is down to my usual waking up on the day the TB deadline and deciding "I'll make an entry today!". I think I finished it around 30 minutes from the deadline :3
