Elements of Harmony collab-new Waves of Paradox overhaul

I'm taking over this project and starting a new thread because people from the past thread may not be up for it anymore.

So the idea is you pick an element of (insert sub/genre here). Then we all make a big collaborative thing mixing all the genres. So respond below picking your element of harmony. Also, if you were GOING to be involved in the last one, I think you should retain the right to use the element you chose prior to this new thread.

Also, PLEASE suggest ideas if you have any on how to pull this project off seamlessly.


I'll work out due dates when we brainstorm an organizational method for doing this. We definitely want to be unified with common themes for this. This may be out there, but a modified sonata form could be cool for this, since it uses variations on a couple of themes.

Also, I'm going to repost what I wrote in the old post since I'm a beytch.

We should change a little of the original idea.

We should restart this whole thing, and have like a couple of slots, choose the element *first come first serve* and have an album with all the remixes of the songs from the show, each person adding one instrument to the remix.

So:
1.Make list of elements(genres) in original post.
2. Have the people dibs on the slot.
3. Choose first song from show to remix and get vocals for it.
4. Have each person add one instrument to the remix.

:3. The only downside I see to this is that there will be like 20 instruments playing at once. But we can also have people add instruments to the remix at different times.

So like a couple of guys put their instrument to like 16 bars, few went more, some started their instrument between that, some started right after those 16 bars.

Note: This is still holding the idea that one person holds a genre and stuff, the difference is that they were going to transition to the next genre after one was done, like the 4-bar thing that's happening right now (except they would each do a longer time period than just 4 bars).

I think people should be able to choose whatever weird sub-genre they wish, with no predetermined list.

As for original or remix, I'm not really sure. I was thinking original, but what does everypony else think?

I love jazz and have always wanted to compose it, but never have. The only thing I know how to do, being a bass player, are walking basslines.
