Your most fav soundtrack?

Postby 5COPY » 17 Jul 2012 15:05

Music is everywhere. In movies and games etc. And are made in order to add to the mood. So what is your most fav soundtrack?

Mine? I would go with 'Deus Ex: Human Revolution Soundtrack - 01. Icarus'

The way it fits into the game is so well done. And the synth, I really like the synth melody and the way it fits with the orchestral instruments. Like even the song itself is some type of augmented cyborg. Which really adds to the mood of the game in this future with robotic augmented people

I really like the melodies in "pirates of the caribbean".

Oh and all the old Pokemon games (red, ruby, blue, fire etc) one simply cannot forget those.

Tron Legacy.

I had a cursory appreciation of Daft Punk before seeing this movie, but I also hated most electronic music in general. But this movie, from the epic title sequence with the glorious, epic synthline accompanying the orchestra, to the fight scene everyone knows because of Derezzed. This soundtrack got me into electronic music; without it, I highly doubt I'd be here.

The Deus Ex: HR soundtrack is indeed awesome. I use it constantly when dm'ing Shadowrun.

Though one of my all time favourite games, all time favourite soundtracks would have to be Okami. The music is just beautiful. I especially like the track "Okikurmi the Hero". I love its scope and the feeling it invokes.

Star Wars would probably be my favorite, though the ones for Das Boot and Highlander (Queen's "It's a kind of Magic") rate high as well.

Morrowind.

Maybe it's part nostalgia (I've been playing this game since I was like seven), but I just find it incredibly beautiful and relaxing. Skyrim's soundtrack is great as well.

I love the entire Inception soundtrack.

I also love the Lavender Town theme song from Polemon. So eerie...

And did I mention the chip tune music in Story of the Blanks? That was pretty cool.

Easy,

TOUHOU! (It's pretty much responsible for me even being here.)

I think I'll throw in some other stuff here too-
Kirby and F-Zero have some pretty good music. Although Kirby doesn't have many tracks that I like, the ones that are good are really great. Crush 40 is also awesome, but not so much Sonic in general. Why the heck has no one mentioned these three awesome things yet?! I like Zelda and wish I could say it has great music too, but it's really rare to find a good track in that series... although they do exist, there aren't many in my opinion.

Sonic Generations. Combines the rock I remember so well from early 2000's, classic Sonic tunes from ye olden days, and Braid-style fiddle type stuff (speaking of which, Braid's soundtrack as well). Which is funny because all the music from Braid was just pulled from the public domain if I'm correct.

Also, every single Pokemon game and Portal 2.

I remember that soundtrack being amazing. Same thing with the entire game. I need to replay that thing...

guys guys guys guys guys guys.

Finding Nemo

And Monster's, Inc. just for this:

EDIT: Also this. Not because the music is exceptional (though it's damn good), but the players themselves are spot on and fantastic. It's terrifying what some brass players can do. Love me some Giacchino.

The "Cry of Fear" soundtrack was pretty good and all.

Oh, and I definitely need to say the soundtrack of "System Shock 2" because holy fuck is there some amazing stuff in there. Especially these two.

I have recently fallen in love with the Binding of Isaac soundtrack. I wouldn't say it's my all time favorite, but it is my fav right now.

Favorites would be anything that sounds like the Thor soundtrack. Cinematic epic orchestra stuff.
