Post Midis, project files, samples, stems, here. Also great place to request collaboration or specific files/sounds.

Working on full-length album. Need collaborators.

Postby CaineTheDoomBringer » 10 Jul 2012 21:32

So my current project is my Mane 6 series (which I'm almost finished), which was just an introductory thing for me, so I could get the hang of doing pony music. It was really just a practice thing. I made a bunch of songs, sent them to people for constructive criticism and (in my opinion) the track quality improved with each song, to the point where I'm fully confident that I could pull off a full album.

It will be mostly stuff I've already written, alot of it non-pony, but I'm looking for anyone who wants to maybe cameo on the album? The ETA is unknown at the moment, as I just started working on stuff, but I want to get tracks written asap so I can go straight to recording.

So...Collabs, anypony? Examples of my work can be found in the links of my signature. Hopefully you like them. ^^

Cheers,

-The Doombringer

If you're interested in having someone inject some punchy drums, weird bass, and silly arp synths, I'm willing to lend a hand once I get my music stuff back together. I'm particularly interested in whatever acoustic stuff you have, because I've done one track that blends electronic and acoustic before, and I love the idea of doing more like it.

Would love to have you on the album. ^^

It'll be a little bit before I start work on it, I have a couple other songs I need to finish, Twilight's song, and my submission for Faithful and Strong, but I'll PM you once I get started on things.

If you need some fretted instrument of some kind, let me know. Gotta fend off the Kyogas, though, cause they attack as soon as they smell an opening for a guitar solo! XD

But seriously. Guitar (acoustic and electric including slide), banjo, bass, lute, sitar...I have a lot of random instruments...let me use them.

It depends on what your time frame is (I cant do much for about a month) but I'd love to help out if you still need anything at that point. I can provide horns (trumpet and trombone). If you can wait until the end of summer and need anything, this would be great to help me get back into music.

DnB right here, if you're interested. I usually do darker types (primarily in bass style) if that's okay.

Wow, the response has been great. This is awesome!

what kind of music do you hope to be doing with this?

Well the stuff that I have lined up is mostly acoustic with electric lead guitar thrown in there here and there. But given the response, I have a feeling this is going to be bridging all sorts of genres. I mostly had the idea for an acoustic folk-rock thing, but I'm seeing opportunities for all sorts of stuff, so who knows?

If you feel like you need some piano at any point, feel free to let me know!

Piano. Oh god yes piano.

Time frame is unknown right now. I have barely started work on it as it is, and, being that I want this to be as good as possible, I'd like to give myself as much time as possible to finish it, so there's lots of time.

DnB, eh? Could be interesting.

Alright, so this is shaping up to be quite the project! Getting pumped. Again, I still have Twilight's Mane 6 song, and my submission for Faithful and Strong to work on before I get to this, but I'm happy to have so many cool musicians on board! I'll keep you guys posted. ^^

My purview with music is generally pretty much on the grimdark side, but there's a wide variety of it. I'm certainly no Kyoga in terms of technical ability, but I can hold my own. I play piano, guitar, bass, and I sing. I'll actually be recording a Rarity piano/harpsicord piece pretty soon (hopefully)!

In any event, listening to some of your work, I'd say you've got a great voice and skill in composition! The mix levels seem off kilter to me, especially in the heavier stuff, but I enjoy the energy that you have going.

Anyway, not sure what a cynical circus rocker/doom metal junkie like myself can offer you, but I'm open to suggestion! My music is all available below to check out, if you like.

Of course! MOAR PIANO. MOAR OF IT.

I think I got the singing covered, but guitar cameos are always welcome!

I'm seeing a lot of opportunities for electronic music here. Cool, because it's something I've wanted to experiment with for a while.

Yeah, my abilities in mixing aren't the greatest, but it's something I've been heavily working on for the past few weeks. If I can't get it right for this album, I'm thinking I'll just pass it on to someone who knows what they're doing, I'm not sure.

I've been listening to some of your work with Pandora's Toybox, and it's really cool. I'd love to have you cameo on a track if I can find something that fits with your style of music.
