I respect everyone regardless of race or religion.
I'd say the large majority of us are alright, the radicals and xenophobes just draw a lot of attention to themselves sometimes - with many different cultures within a community the majority get along, but there's the small core who whinge about having to share the country with foreigners (of course everyone's a foreigner unless they're indigenous, but don't bother explaining that to them). Maybe you've had a bit of bad luck with the types of Aussie you've met
