Horrendously offbeat vocals

Postby Triple_B » 03 Jul 2012 14:51

Hey, I just met you,
And this is crazy!
But FL sucks,
So help me, maybe?

Uhm, yeah.

http://db.tt/l2KwAX0J

The vocals are horrendously offbeat, and I don't have the slightest F*ing clue on how to fix them.

It's making me rage, because almost all the rest of the track sounds pretty good, no? (Though I think my drums could punch through more, they're super compressed with a threshold of -60db, they should be fine. But aren't. Sadfaise)

It's still a WIP; like, a lot.

Also, while playing around with tempo and shit, the vocals original tempo was 130.02 apparently, not just 130; though hypothetically they should be at 145-ish along with the rest of my remix. I'm not sure where I was going with that. .__.

Uhm, yeah; help pretty please & thanks?
10/15/2014 - I finally return to ponies? Maybe.

Actually it was more like 10/12/2015

My current SoundCloud, pony & non-pony things found here.

I have 4 EP's under this alias!

Somepony talk to me, I are the lonelies. :c

Are you recording your vocals while listening to the background track? I've never done vocals, but if you're not doing that, I'd imagine it'd take a bit of editing to get them to sound in sync (which wouldn't be worth it).
Eh... maybe it'd help to have something playing the parts that would be vocals, then when those parts play, you can sing those parts to get a better idea of where to start singing, then just take out the track that plays those cues and leave the vocals?
That's all I've got 6_9

You shouldn't be saying that FL sucks simply because you can't beatmatch the vocals. I have yet to have any issues with matching vocals to the song tempo. In fact, FL usually does the job for me.

'Ello poppet!

Alright, I'm a little lost here. Assuming that you've recorded your vocals with a matching tempo (via metronome or listening to the song or whatever) and saved said vocal clips as .wavs. shouldn't you be able to automatically timestretch them on the playlist when you drop them into the mix?

Save the small 16 bar rap bit, all the recording and almost all processing was done by Aviators.

And the stems for his vocals were only given in .mp3 format.

And if I may clarify, this is not me singing. At all. The little tidbit of rap at the end of the breakdown is all that is me, that's it. The rest is all Aviators' .mp3 format stems for Monster.

And according to everyone I talk to, right clicking on the file thingy in the corner in FL and auto-syncing it with the project doesn't put it on beat. Not to mention it doesn't sound right to me that way to begin with.
