On second thought, I'm probably not in. I planed on making a submission for smile 3, and I'm just such a slow composer :(

For future posts: This isn't a WIP or listening thread, please use the music forum if you have anything to showcase.

Being said, I'll listen to that tomorrow when I get out my headphones.

Ok, time to attempt conflicting songs at the same time.
One for HARDHARDHARD Pinkamena Party and one for this!
Ahh...this won't end well.

"Q: Does my song have to be pony?
A: It really doesn't matter. Some songs will be pony, some will not be. Don't force pony on a song."

YES, I'm actually better at making original songs, but I sometimes feel the need to force pony and/or touhou onto them for various reasons, one big one being views/listens... *_*
Or sometimes I'm super curious to hear what they could be rearranged into...

Now to try Core and Chill!

Next Monday I'll probably participate with my first chill track ever. Or will I? It's complicated I guess. I'm not good at soft stuff, so I'll try to combinate disquieting sounds with calm mood.

And like I told in previous topic: it's very good idea to make something soft, with delicate atmosphere. Not everypony must be good at making punchy modern music, nor should necessarily trying to find themself in hard genres.

I'm in for this album. I already started something rather unique (I think) last night for this and it should hopefully meet your definition of 'chill' well enough :)

- Oh, hi there, Flutter. How about a chill and nice track?
- Yeah, I would totally do this!
- Soooo... what should we start from?
- Hmm. Punchy drums and horrible harsh bass maybe?

*facehoof*

I won't be sad if I'll be rejected. I just deserve some kick in the plot now.

For liquid dubstep and d'n'b, you won't need to forget all the hard stuff, infact, you'll be using them as well

how about you try sidechaining the pads/bass? and for dubstep bass, wobbles are ok, but try not to disort them, or get that knife party or skrillex brostep sounds, aim for the classic UK chillstep bass from like 2009 or something, it works really well.
And punchy drums for liquid d'n'b is all right, except you might have to eq them extensively to make it smooth and to avoid domination blocking out all the lead/bass/etc. and so on

For lead voices....Piano and delayed square leads work well in this case, and add a bit of white noise and detune it, it adds ambience

Umm... thank you for your trouble, but I'm on this level of making music, I just won't listen to anypony. Instead of typical elements, I've got multifiltered basses and pads made from weird samples. Instead of white noise I used raindrops.
Are you familiar with my style? It's completely unique, because I just don't hear what people are saying and make my own way every time. I can't even watch tutorials and do what they say properely. Curse. :'D

And seriously: I'm just fooling around, because I know my track is an abomination. First: it could make it to the BP easily, so "hard" is the word. Second: even if it's still somehow delicate, it kicks ass. I'm not sure if this kind of music fits Soft Spectrum. In fact, I doubt it, but I'll try.

But I'm not complaining, I'll take reject with dignity and just upload this song beyond album, because it's simply outstanding.

I think it's a good thing using your own style, it makes this album far more interesting! I was just giving advice for getting that "liquid" sound into your dubstep, but you should stick with your style, if it works at least
