ITT: we share where we got our favorite free samples.

I'll start with http://www.freesound.org because that's the obvious one and I haven't actually been anywhere else. :P

I personally love MusicRadar's collection of about 35000 samples. Good ones, too.

Also, try BedroomProducersBlog for samples and other free software.
DAW: FL Studio 10
VSTs: 3x OSC, Oatmeal, Piano One, Every other free VST I can find.
Genres: Anything I feel like making.

I probably don't have to tell you, but make sure everything you discuss is legal (i.e. not pirated), or else Makkon will send this conversation to Tartarus.

Freesound.org is a great site! Used it quite often in my album productions.

Yeah, it says "flstudio" because it has flp files available, but there's also a whole bunch of samples, loops, soundfonts, VSTs... that will work in any DAW.
