Looking for free VSTi w/ flexible routing

I'm looking for a free VST synth that has a lot of routing/modulation capabilities--meaning basically that almost every parameter can be modulated by an LFO, envelope, or internal sequencer, and that a lot of those kinds of connections can be set up. More particularly, I'm also hoping for one that allows for fairly wide extremes in its settings.

PolyIblit, for example, is almost perfect, but the envelope attacks aren't quite as long as I'd prefer, even at their highest setting, and there are a few other problems I tend to run into with it. TAL's Noisemaker, Synth1, and Oatmeal are each pretty good, but they're a little limited about what can all can be modulated, and how many such connections can be set up. (I also think some of them have more limited LFO rate extremes than I'd like, but I don't remember which or in what way.)

Crystal fits the bill, but I kind of hate it for various reasons, so I'd like to find something else, if anyone has any suggestions. Much appreciated. :3


Edit, a few others contenders I've rejected:
ZynAddSub_FX is probably completely capable of this, but the interface pains me, so I'm reluctant to explore much with it.
Atlantis kinda works, but it only allows one modulation/controller on each parameter, and I also don't really like its interface either.

Well it sounds like you have covered all of the main ones (that I know of). I think it may be really difficult finding free 'modular' synth that will suit your liking.

I did find this on the internet - http://www.vstcafe.com/2009/04/kx-synth ... synth.html - I have never used it but it looks like a simple interface with a fair sized matrix (256) for routing. Thats all I got.

In case anyone else in the future stumbles across this thread whilst hunting for a similar VST, I'll mention that I discovered Sonigen Modular, which seems like a fairly good solution. It doesn't allow the modulation of EVERYTHING, sadly--the comb filter only lets you modulate the "tuning" parameter, for example--but as the name suggests, it's modular. You can set up as many oscillators, filters, LFOs and envelopes as you like and connect them however you like.

The range of settings on things like attack and LFO rates seems adequate for my needs too.
