You should also be able to make other MIDI tracks "children" of the track with the VSTi. (Y'know, click the little icon on the bottom right part of the track controls, below the "track number". Put the child(dren) track(s) below, and click its icons until it changes to the "track is last in the folder" icon.) I found in Reaper the Input/Output menu, there is an option to make one track receive from another. I adjusted the MIDI output from the main track and the receiving track and the output in the VST. This did the trick and I'm sure it would work in other multitrack VST's such as DSK Overture. The problem is I can't seem where to do this in LMMS. Just another reason to buy Reaper.
