Living Room Command Center

Postby colortwelve » 15 Jun 2012 16:28

In my quest to be able to use my music laptop (the screen of which broke a few days ago) while connected to my TV, and still use a keyboard, I stumbled across a program called Input Director, which basically lets you access any computer in a given LAN that also has the program installed. And now, instead of using my crappy tank laptop as a computer, I'm using it as a keyboard while I work off of my music laptop, which is connected to my living room's big-ass HDTV :D

But yeah, I thought this might be useful if any of you guys ever run into the same sort of issue as me and don't have cables long enough to just use a laptop with a broken screen without making it unnecessarily complicated (but much more rewarding when everything works)
Youtube -- Soundcloud -- Tumblr -- Bandcamp (new album out!)

I can't feel my brain.

I can use my DAW on my TV for the hell of it. I can show everyone I live with: "see, I don't waste my life away!".

Except that's not true :(

Well, I can only think of a better set up.
Mine, of course.
7 monitors on a suspended modifiable platform, and to control it I have Tony Stark's hologram room, and auto enhancing picture software. And guests can use the tablet hologram things from Avatar I have lying around. And if I really want to be alone, I have a program that takes all incoming calls and plays them back to the caller in a mocking tone, every now and then tossing in a "your mom" joke (YOUR MOM has a special offer! YOUR MOM needs to take those pills daily, not weekly!)

I'm currently using the travel size version. It sucks. The coffee machine can't make a decent espresso, and auto blowjob giver can only preform 3 kinds of blowjobs.
