Interesting chord progression! Makes it different from all the other schlock. The snare sounds a little weak compared to the kick, and the wobble pattern gets repetitive after the first couple of times. I really love the orchestra though. What did you use to get those sounds? And I never knew this genre existed! *goes on three-day orchestral dubstep binge*

I used Sytrus for the strings and Harmless for the brass, although I recommend you get soundfonts for recorded instruments.

This has everything you need: http://the-filmmusic-group.deviantart.c ... -224143947

And about the bass, I mixed it wrong here. I was hoping for the bass to be much quieter than it turned out after render, working on that now. It'll seem less repetitive when it's not on the foreground of the song.

Agreed about mixing the bass down. And damn, do those soundfonts look good! Thanks for the link!

Dude, pretty good, but that bass just needs to be darker and hard-er. Kinda like Hans Zimmer style inception music.

I am pretty sure I've heard that string synth somewhere - did you use soundfont player with string ensemble? Try to make it more unique either by completely changing the VST or playing around with EQs and fx.

I'm thinking the addition of subbass is in order.

Yes you have, I used Sytrus for it, but I have since downloaded some string soundfonts and putting some effects on those to perhaps get a more unique sound.

If you weren't in on the conversation, I made this at about 2:30 AM and just wanted to get something down :D

I think it's an interesting idea, but could be massively improved by at least three things:
1. Punching up them drums, man. (Layer samples. Layer lots of samples.)
2. Making your bass more bassey. (More sub, less mid, and maybe some tube distortion or something.)
3. Some synth pads a la Scary Monsters just playing in the background of the mix to brighten up and fill out the overall sound.
Youtube -- Soundcloud -- Tumblr -- Bandcamp (new album out!)

I can't feel my brain.
