They need to get their shit together.

Sports, politics, movies, videogames, questionable hobbies, photos from your family vacation, etc. Talk about stuff that isn't ponies or music. But do try to stay on topic and respectful of alternate opinions.

They need to get their shit together.

Okay now I'm pissed. I sent my new track into eqd over a week ago. I emailed it to them a total of 3 times over the week. I got no answer. It pissed me off so i sent another email demanding an explanation. you know what answer I got?

"If its a week old its probably too late now!"

What kind of bullshit response is that? Id get it if i sent it in a week after i uploaded it, but ive been trying to get it up since I first put it on youtube. something REALLY needs to be done about this. I'm just about ready to march over to seth's house and yell at him. He lives like 6 miles away.

This has happened to each and every one of us at one point and quite often MANY MANY times.

See the 11 page locked thread if you wanna feel better or worse. It will explain why they may have rejected it. I have never received a rejection letter, just a lack of response.

Ultimately they reject much more than they receive so unless you wanna be blacklisted or something by being difficult, take a breath, remember that they don't owe you anything and they don't serve your needs (it's vice versa), and just keep making good music that will be hard to ignore.

I understand where you are coming from and wanting that recognition and you clearly do have a talent for music, but do you think posting this here and having that hubris is good and healthy? Ultimately they only feature a small segment of the brony commuinity each and every week, they rarely do or should feature the same musicians every time. If this is your "To The Birds" track it is very good, it is definitely <pony>, but they didn't include it this time and i can't tell you why. Ultimately I've never seen a rejection letter from them so don't expect them to explain it either.

Just realize that every time you submit a track there's a chance they won't feature your track or even reply to as why not. That's how you have to deal with EqD, that's how we deal with EqD, you are no different than any other brony in that respect. They don't owe you a spot and emailing them 3 or 4 times won't help your cause either. You ultimately have 500+ subscribers, 700+ views for that track otherwise, and 70 thumbs up in just a week. That really should be enough recognition to feel good about your own music and yourself.

No one's fighting at all, this is a conversation. I'm just trying to calm a brony down and have him gain a little perspective. I mean we've all been here right?

Codeum your track is fine and you've got a good audience build up, that track will reach more people in time. Just leave it at that.

Again though Makkon doesn't want another bitch about EqD thread (like the last one) so let's not create another thread that's bound to get locked by a mod like the last one.

And this, friends, is why I don't submit my music to EqD :) I could care less about not getting as many subs or followers.

EqD doesn't HAVE to place your music, they can close down immediately and you can't bitch about it. It's their choice, not yours- just make music and try to get fans from your other fans.

5 more subscribers than I've gotten in the past few months ;)
Dj pon3 makes some great points, a lot of it is about perspective. Why obsess over making MORE subscribers when you already have a lot and are gradually gaining more? Be proud of your own creative output, not the subsequent quantity of listeners.

That's 5 more than I ever got ever since I became NeX.

Try to take no offense, but it seems like you're bitching about something that noone really cares about but you. Just make music, isn't that what musicians do and do it for the art. If you really do care about the number of subs you get from your music rather than the quality of the song... I think I lost a lot of respect.

That's just a tiny bit less than half of what I have now, and I've been at it for 4-5 months.

I'm not even going to discuss this whole "EqD not accepting me/not enough subs" thing, we have already done this.

Do I really have to quote myself again?
okay here:

"im not selfish enough just to do it because i want to be popular. its feel good music that should be shared to make random people's days better."

you don't get it. Subs aren't just numbers to me. it doesn't tickle my dick to watch them rise just because I have some delusion of importance or popularity from it. Each one of my 513 subs is a real person that I influenced. My music, my hard work made a big impact on their life. I don't know what that impact may be, or how far down the road it will happen, but it will happen. When somebody likes what I wrote enough to hit that subscriber button, it means I am making humanity happier by a unit of 1. Before ponies, I pumped out complex piano rock type songs with very emotional motifs and layering. I sucked at mixing back then but still, the compositions had effects on people. I may not have gotten more than 30 or 40 views on each track, but each of the people that clicked on it needed to hear it at that moment. whether it was because they felt happy, needed to feel happier, or were about to commit suicide. Yes, i have received a lot of newgrounds messages that explained how tough that persons life was and how my soundtracks had saved them from killing themselves. That profound effect on the emotional state of the listener is why I fight so hard to spread my music. I've always had a feeling I would do something big to change the world, and while it may not seem like it with the amount of views I have on my tracks, the snowballing effect needs to be taken into consideration. my small 4 minute tracks make people feel better which in turn reflect that on their peers and it spreads like wildfire. I'm not a selfish prick who thinks the world owes him something. I feel completely the opposite. I owe the world my music.

Yet you still complain about gaining "ONLY" 5 subscribers in three weeks? I don't know about you, but if 513 people were "influenced" by my music, or I made a "Big impact" on their lives, I would be satisfied, and I wouldn't go around complaining that I have only gained 5 subscribers in 3 weeks, because that 5 wasn't a big enough number for me.

I see a post from someone who's trying to hide what they're really feeling because all I see in your posts is "me me me me me me me me me meeeeeeeeeee" no matter how hard you try and mask it.

I'll just return you to some of your own posts:

I say all that because I have INCREDIBLY LOW self esteem. like its almost nonexistent. I'm ALWAYS second guessing my skills. Its a big hangup I got because of the daily insecurities I faced in gradeschool from bullies. It still troubles me deeply
