<pony><original> Dashin' Dreams

After a long time I finally managed to make something new, second track so far.

Man, if I ever got stressed because of music, it was for this track - losing project files, FL crashing, losing vocal chops that aren't there anymore and so on and so on :) .

Anyway, continuing on from where I was left, I have so much left to learn. Third track has to be much better.

*listening* always remember to drop everything after (and including) the & for your embed. fixed it for you.

Well man I really like this. I have absolutely nothing to knock or recommend as this is beautiful and complete to me. Well maybe the claps could have been wetter perhaps, i dunno. Regardless I love this and if you had problems putting this together it doesn't show. :D

Thanks for fixing it, was wondering why it wasn't showing properly :)

I was planning to apply quite alot of processing to all sounds, which would make the track much better sounding, but sadly my CPU couldn't handle any more - so my mixer channels in FL for this track have mostly only EQ + sidechain, almost no other processing except here and there. Any more and I couldn't listen back to it in FL since it was already crackling a bit. One of the reasons I'm trying out Ableton :)

One recommendation, as I used to max out my old system quite frequently, is you can always export a completed part of your track (where you have the midi and track as you want it) to wav and the re-import. That way your CPU and ram won't get hammered trying to play or export the final project via midi through your vst but will simply play it as it is. I really recommend this method (and had to do it all the time) when you're stuck with the pc you've got. ;)

Yup, i was thinking about it, thing is, that whenever i want to make a change to original sound and timbre of that exported track, i would need to rerender again and reimport again. Ableton kinda makes this easier with its frezze option and this is why im giving it a shot. Hopefully i wont need to loong to get used to it. :)

Well, most of this technical stuff is way over my head and I don't know really what more to add...
Anyway that song is great! Really good atmosphere to it and just relaxing in general to listen to. Only thing that I would've liked to see is some more variation in the "choruses". Possibly through harmonizing with the main melody? (adding notes so it would become full chords instead of individual notes)
But that may just be me

Can't play more than one note with this one, since its kinda distorted sound and those don't work together that well. But yeah, getting rid of repetition is near the top of my "to do" list.
