After almost a full year of trying to figure out just what exactly Loop Mash is, I think I finally found out.

This plugin for Cubase basically lets you take an audio sample, and it analyzes hitpoints and slices that then impact other samples.

In other words, you import a drum loop into it, and if you add samples to the tracks under the master track, it automatically creates a mashed up loop by selecting slices from your other samples to match the drum loop.

Really cool tool, and if used in the right ways, could probably create some interesting glitch.

yeah thats pretty awesome. almost worth looking at cubase just for that.

Cubase has some pretty decent VSTs, but a lot of people don't use them because, well, documentation is pretty hard to find.

I practically gave up on trying to find a tutorial on Spectre, which bases its synthesis on a spectrum formant filter, or something along those words. Then of course, after searching dozens of websites, I realized Steinberg has a PDF for all its instruments.

Except Loop Mash, which has documentation for literally everything about it (in the PDF), except how to get your sounds from the instrument, to your track.

Last I checked, that was a pretty important part, so after much struggling, I finally figured out how to do it. So anybody with Cubase who's wondering how to do it, I'll probably do a tutorial for it.
