You can say "This was my submission for Balloon Party" but you cant say it was a balloon party song because its not on the album.

Thats like saying you won the gold at the olympics when everyone knows you came in fifth.

No, it was supposed to bring everyone together, that's two very distinct things, but it failed in that respect as well. For a project that was advertised as a big community hugfest, it was too narrowed down to a specific kind of music, I'm sure people who enjoy making hard music will disagree but to us who don't, it makes for a very narrow limit.

That doesn't mean BP sucks because it did bring some people together and the tracks are good so, it kind of worked out? And I'm listening to it right now, and I must say, the best tracks come from the lesser known guys.

So much butthurt in here. Hopefully this will clear up a few things:

1. The released album doesn't cater to a particular genre of music, unlike Knife Party that this is parodying. Examples: Makkon's orchestral tracks. Psychedelic Brony's psychedelic rock.

2. 45 tracks is a pretty ginormous album as is. When you have over 200 submissions to an album, you can't simply accept all of them, and I personally feel that 45 is quite a generous size. Anything over would start to get a bit extreme.

3. The album doesn't cater to the top brony musicians. Yes, many are featured, but there's also many musicians I haven't seen before that are featured. Not to mention that some very popular musicians were not accepted as well. Example: Omnipony

4. You CAN still upload your track to YouTube, but it cannot be under the name of Balloon Party. If you want to mention that it was your submission that didn't get accepted, that's all on you, but there's nothing preventing you from releasing your tracks.

There really shouldn't be any surprises. We knew shortly after hearing how many musicians were involved, that we would need some form of quality control on the album, which simply cannot feature more than like, 50 tracks at tops.

If there's one thing that does sort of annoy me about the track selection, it's the fact that some musicians have more than 1 song featured. Surely a few of those 78% of submissions that were declined were high enough quality to get on the album, so I personally feel it's a bit unfair to deny those artists in favor of giving another artist a second song on the album.

But that's my only complaint. Overall I'm not mad at all. I rushed my song, and don't feel it's the best I could have done. If anything this helped inspire me as to what more I should work towards, and I encourage others that didn't make the cut to find a positive outcome.

Well, let me put it this way:
Balloon Party: "one of the hardest, most highly anticipated albums in the history of My Little Remix"
Tomb's song: Like frolicking in a field of daisies
Automatic Jack's demo: They're still picking bits of my head off from the wall opposite my computer.

The worst part is that Party Cannon by Tombstone is harder than the track on Balloon Party.
