Btw, I think making 1 track as a collab is a silly idea. Let everyone make their own track based on the same theme, and the start+end has to be easily mixable. Then make 1 big mix and release an album.

Another cool idea. Since Pinkie Cake took the element of Dubstep (which was my first choice), I'll be the element of Progressive House.

Since I don't really know what element I'd represent, and it's my idea, I think I'd be the one to attempt to mix everything together, and just to keep the project organized in general.

Senator Myth If you wana mix all the submissions together then more power to you, but I'm curious how you plan on or suppose we go about the mixing. you have Decks? If anypony here actually djs they could mix them in real time. Not altering the bulk of the mix while it plays, but they could make the transitions much more interesting at least.

We should also come up with (later once we have a better idea of all the elements involved) an order of progression from style to style that would make the mix flow well. for instance i've heard a lot of Dubstep transitioning into psytrance and it works pretty well.

Specifically Darkpsy which still leaves Full-on, progressive, Morning, Twilight, and GOA trance (sort of joking there)

I said those things a long time ago, back when there weren't like twenty people attaching themselves to the project. Each person adds an exponential amount of difficulty, and this has unfortunately evolved far beyond "very challenging" and into the realms of "far beyond my abilities."

anyway, to make this thing a bit more down-to-earth, we should agree on some things.

My main idea is this as of now:

INTRO: possible ideas: group-acapella; ambient buildup... (the first one sounds the most logical for me...)

(VERSE: personal piece with possible singing)
(REPEATING MOTIF/THEME/CHORUS/D.C./whatever: agreed on main progressinon with possible singing)
(BUILDUP/BREAKDOWN/GENERAL TRANSITION: this needs that the styles are arranged in a "decent enough" fashion, but some could be merged into other parts too)
^repeat until we're out of musicians

the verse and repeating motif parts are either/or, not necessarily needed every time, that'd be too formulaic.

some further ideas:
- lyrics: basically what the song's about. since it's mlr, i thought that it should be about us, not just about ponies. unfortunately, i suck with words (in any language, my vocab's not that colorful) so i'd appreciate input on this. (of course we can also have parts that sample ponies from the show too or that people sing with ponies at the same time)
- the main parts could be made from parts of various already existing pieces that we made (assuming everyone affected agrees), but then i'd need midis of those (or tracks) to arrange (and instrumentate in case of midi) them for demonstration purposes. Alternative version is: we come up with a general melody from scratch that sounds just as awesome in symphonic as it would in... dubstep for example. but i like the first since we can use parts from everyone's songs and mix them up so everyone's in the repeating parts.

since this is so huge, there's no doubt a lot of WIP tracks will be made just to hear how it will sound.

and BE VOCAL please; part of why i don't like to lead projects is because i can't control myself in the sense that i don't even realize it when i'm being a HUGE GIGANTIC FAGOTT

in other words, please share your opinions; i assume we all want this to sound great.

people would either get a verse or a chorus; those are your own playgrounds. after you guys made tracks (with varying lengths, except for the choruses which should be about the same lengths). I was mainly thinking that everyone would have 1 part, but if someone wants to help out others, then it will just sound more epic.

singing parts where lyrics can be put: restricted to 1 person in a verse, if they want to (pleasesayyes), but choruses should have more people singing.

the transitions would be made after the first wips because there's that thing about having no idea who comes after who.
